There is a Time Written and performed by the Dillards

There is a time for love and laughter,
The days will pass like summer storms;
The winter winds will follow after,
But there is love and love is warm.

Chorus:

There is a time for us to wander,
When time is young and so are we;
The woods are greener over yonder;
The path is new and the world is free.

There is a time when leaves are fallin',
The woods are gray, the paths are old;
The snow will come when geese are calling',
You need a fire against the cold.

(Chorus)

So do your roamin' in the springtime,
You'll find your love and a summer sun;
The frost will come and bring a harvest,
And you can rest when the day is done

I have a 'pink floyd' t-shirt. It has a picture of Floyd on it and he is in a pink section, and the rest of the shirt has the words Deep Purple all over it.

Cool shirt. Bought it in Gatlinburg.

Cool! I remember some years back, a local rock station in knox, had it on billboards. Just floyds face, and the sign was pink. I loved it, since im a mayberry fan and Pinkfloyd fan. Nirvana had a song on their first record/cd "Floyd the barber", thought that was neat', considering they where from Seattle, Guess theres a bit of Mayberry everywhere... :thumbsup:

I've always wanted to go to Mayberry Days but haven't been able to yet. I have sat in the barber seat there in Mount Airy and my picture is on the wall with the thousands of others.

And I have eaten a porkchop sandwich in the Snappy Lunch. Also, we rode by the house Andy Griffith grew up in there in Mount Airy.

It is a very beautiful area, Seems everytime ive started over the mountain, it's been early am, the fog is unbelievable.
The year i was able to make it to Mayberry day's, I just wanted to find a diner, and grab me a famous Blue Plate Special LOL....It's a fun deal,
But just riding threw the area is so pleasant.

I certainly agree with you on that. I only live about and hour and a half away and I really enjoy the Mount Airy area.

I do love the episode about the chain letter and Andy finding the magazine at the trash dump with a centerfold and addressed to Barney!

Ever noticed Andy in a cast (arm) it appears? in some of the early shows. Its hard to notice because of the long sleeved uniform shirt he wears.

Have to love the Citizens Arrest episode....or the one when "Sam the butcher" was gonna kick barneys butt, for the citation Barney wrote him for sweeping his walk off into the street. He was also an escaped con in another episode he's more remembered for..

Chain Letter, lol Barney was so convinced his bad luck was going to end him until he sent it back out....Didnt Floyd have a really funny part in that one? Wasnt he the one that sent it to Barney?

Everybody see the Mayberry reunion show where Barney was running for sheriff, Opie's wife was having a baby, and there was a monster in the lake?

I'm not a big fan of the show...but my mom just loves it. She just went to the Cracker Barrel and bought Seasons 1-5 on DVD. They were reasonably priced too. You guys should check it out. :)
