Maymon Should be 100 percent by July

Probably just a bias, but I'm expecting AJ to be special.
His dad was one of my favorites and he's ahead of where SR was coming out of high school.
Christopher has 5 months to build some college class strength.
He'd be higher rated if his growing spurt hadn't come so late. Caused problems with his identity. thought he was going to be a guard.

Yeah, I totally agree. I think AJ is going to be a big impact player and he will get his opportunity to really shine hs Soph year. He will be a great pick up for CCM

I shouldn't even dignify your unwarranted, pompous attitude with a response, but here goes.

I guess I'm interpreting it differently than you. You take his comments to mean he is physically unable to go out there and do what he's used to being able to do. And by definitive, I mean we haven't seen anything in person.

I feel like he's suggesting that he is being held back by the staff/trainers and himself from a mental standpoint (trusting the knee). He feels sluggish from having not played competitively in a year. When he gets back into playing shape, I don't think pain or comfortability in the knee will be an issue. Stokes comments seem to suggest he still has the moves and ability.

If it bothers you so much then don't hit the "quote" button. You're the one that calls people a fool or belittles them about a comment with the smarty pants reply "that's a fine analogy"...

All I've said is that we have indications from players saying what great shape Maymon is in and that he can "still take over game". Comments like that indicate that Maymon would be much further along than the comments from Maymon himself. Similar to the comments from Trae Golden last year saying that McBee was the "best" shooting guard in the country and that he never misses a 3 in practice. All I've said is that you can't rely on what players say about other players because as we have seen that it is sugar coated.

I am pretty sure that his teammates weren't going to call him the "worst" in the country. It's team speak. I don't recall those words, but it wouldn't be a very good "team" if they didn't support each other.

HIPAA directly rules the Maymon situation- doesn't matter what has been donw with other players. Those other cases aren't relevant. CCM won't reveal anything unless he is allowed to.

Did you ever watch McBee in practice or pregame shoot around? Kid was a phenom, to bad it couldn't translate into the game. But his motor ran full speed all the time.

It wasn't a "smarty pants reply". I meant exactly what I said. It is a fine analogy, but it's flawed IMO because you were comparing someone's talent with someone's health. If the team were comparing Maymon's ability to drain 3-pointer after 3-pointer in practice and calling him the best shooting PF in the country, then the comparison would have more merit.

I didn't belittle you or call you a fool. If that's what you took from it, I can't help you.

That means he wasn't and he sucked.

Appears you don't remember the reports of McBee's shoulder injury at the start of the season which affected his shot. There's no reason to believe that McBee wasn't performing pre-injury as reported by his teammates.

Either way, mcbee was not going to be a real threat last season for the most part.

Speaking of Stokes, his offseason training seems to he centered around explosiveness. I'm pretty excited about that, maybe he'll start dunking those 2 footers instead of missing little lay ins.

All do respect, he said this last year.

That his off season workouts were centered around explosiveness, quickness, and improving his vertical? I simply remember him saying he was trying to get stronger, not solely work on any of those things.

Kinda. I should have been more specific tho. He said that he had work on his explosivenss to the rim. I remember an interview where he said a lot of the ones he was laying up his freshman year, he would be dunking last year. No disrespect to Stokes. He is just vertically challenged.

You know I'm not a nega vol, just sayin is all.

Yea I remember that, but he seemed to be trying to et stronger to, which he appeared. He seems now to actually possibly be trying to lose a little weight, and really improve his agility, quickness and explosiveness.

Losing a little weight could help that out a lot. Honestly, I think he would be better served to work with a big, that knows how to use your body to create space for a shot. He is awesome at creating space for a rebound. He just seems a little lost sometimes in how to get a shot off with somebody draped all over him.

Needs to lose a little weight and perform many knee bends, jumps, and one where you sit as though you are in a chair on a wall. He needs to build up his hamstrings for explosiveness and faster twitch.

Think he could fit into my size 13 strength shoe? lol

RT @BFQuinn Cuonzo Martin on Jeronne Maymon: "Looks like the same guy to me -- making plays off the bounce, facilitating the offense."

This is scary! We could really be scary good this year.

Unfortunately Quinn's next tweet on Maymon says he's still limited and Martin doesn't know when he'll be 100% SMH

Agreed. If maymon stokes and McRae are healthy we could be really good any night.

I didnt know whether to ask here or in the RockyTop league thread but here goes. Now I realize the RockyTop league is basically the equivalent to a scrimmage. But does anybody but me find it hard to believe that Maymon looks like the old Maymon, but is still not ready to at least play a few minutes here and ther in the RockyTop league? I hope this doesnt come across as negative. But the more time that goes by and we keep hearing almost there, almost there, the more I am thinking Pops better get ready for some serious minutes.

I hope I am wrong and Maymon comes back better than before. But sometimes common injustries can have uncommon results. And I am afraid our boy is going to fall into the latter

They are very cautious with these guys and the RTL.

Derek Reese isn't playing at all because of last years injuries, and also he will be playing for Puerto Rico again.

Quinton Chievous isn't playing in the RTL because of an old injury apparently, but he's a full participant in workouts from what I've gathered.

With Maymon I just think its likely an extra precaution. I will really start to worry if September rolls around and team practices start and he's still limited...that's when I'll really worry.
