I don't even know the guy. Pretty sure you just showed your maturity level here.

I'll support and respect Dooley when he does something of relevance on the football field.

way too dodge my answer.:)
i never said anything about you bashing dooley.
kiffin61 bashes him nonstop and half of VN has him on ignored

Maymon contributed about as much as freshman as Woolridge contributed this year as a sophomore. Woolridge also has twice the potential in his body and a better skill set. And he does have an overly involved parent that could bring more drama along.

Maymon played a total of seven games at Marquette as a true freshman where they had him as a 6-6 center. How could you possibly make such strong statements?

Here, I'll help. NO, I don't consider it respect. But, it is reality that the coach we hired is not SEC caliber at this point in time. Will he be? Not a clue. I'll get behind him when he does something of relevance with our football program.

Yeah - because he's a quitter - and is pretty selfish but probably got a push from his father to get out is my guess. He thinks he can play the 3 when he just can't. Doesn't have the skill set for it. He was a non-factor at Marquette, aka Woolridge this year no matter how long he was there.

He knew things weren't going to change so he bailed.

I presume these other logical, objective, and intelligent people don't post on the football board.

Bashing Dooley before he's coached a game isn't exactly logical if you ask me. Guy is our head coach. There's no changing it. If we want to bash him let's at least wait until we lose a game or two.

Also very telling that he was unable to hire any big-time assistants, thus settling for the Hinshaws and Russells of the world.

If he had never been a head coach in college before, I'd agree.

However, dude was head coach of a team that went 4-8 in his third season.

It's like promoting the AA guy hitting .206 and expecting him to win the Silver Slugger and nab an All-Star selection.

I don't care. He's our head coach. I'll support him until he proves to me he can't win at UT.

Hate on Dooley all you want. I'm not sold at all either. He very well could be gone in three or four years. I just don't understand the infatuation with Kiffin. Sure he has a bright future ahead of him, but he did nothing for Tennessee.

Care to explain what you find so funny?

You find it funny that this current staff is Levi Strauss compared to the last staff, which was Brioni?

BTW, pretty sure name-calling is against board rules.

Give me a break, you are channeling hat here with your hasty negativity. Kids transfer all the time. I guess you didn't cheer for JP, Bobby, Melvin, etc. (Hell, Larry Bird "quit" Indiana, too. What a loser)? Hat eventually looked like a fool saying those guys wouldn't amount to anything as they first arrived and you'll have to do the same with Maymon.

Maymon was already getting good minutes at Marquette playing out of position. He certainly didn't transfer because of a lack of playing time, you don't know what you're talking about there. He's mainly a four and will play that here, which means he can play inside-out.

The only thing I'll grant is that his dad is overbearing, but Pearl has done a decent job keeping Tim Maymon at arm's length. Otherwise, you are waaaaayyyyy too dismissive of a kid who's barely played college ball.

He brought us excitement, trash talk, swagger, hope, and Janzen Jackson. He was also brought up in a culture of winning and wasn't afraid to piss in the face of Slive and the 'AA. He also surrounded himself with the best.
Kiffin understood how important recruiting was. I'm not sure Dooley does. He at least doesn't understand it as well as Kiffin.

I can relate far better to Kiffin than Dooley, which is personal preference.

The fact Dooley is a proven loser can't be denied. The fact most of his staff blows can't be denied. The fact he likes Fulmer makes me want to vomit. I hope he does well, but am not counting on it.

I won't debate any of this. If he had stayed here long enough he would have made Tennessee a championship program again, I fully believe that. However, Kiffin was only here a year and didn't advance Tennessee anymore than it was before he took over. My loyalties are to Tennessee, not a coach. That's why I don't understand this devotion to Kiffin.

Maymon thinks he's a 3.. so. And what do JP and Bobby have to do with him? JP had health issues which was a big part of the downfall and Bobby pretty much got kicked off the Sooners... Maymon quit because he couldn't put the team before himself and his dad is overly involved.

He wasn't playing "out-of-position" for his skill set. He just believes he was playing out of position because he thinks he's something he's not. Marquette didn't really have much down low so that reflects even more poorly on him.

And as for Hatvol looking like a fool - he only claimed JP Prince wouldn't be a player here from what I recall - and Hatvol was right until JP's final half of his senior season. JP has a heck of a lot more upside that Maymon - and was coming off the health problem so you could atleast make a better case that he'd live up to his potential after he recovered. He was very, very inconsistent the other years and you can't deny that. I think he said Bobby and Melvin wouldn't be the answer at PG... Bobby developed nicely but PG has still been a weak spot the past 2 season.

Please, facts? What are you smoking?

Maymon played 147 minutes in 9 games for a Marquette team desperate for competent play in the frountcourt alongside Hayward. Take that as you wish.

I didn't say anything that common sense doesn't support - or basic basketball knowledge. What facts do you need? That Maymon wants to be a wing player? That JP nearly died after a surgery? That Oklahoma let Bobby Maze go?
