Mayweather & Pacquiao

Well...watched my first and last boxing match tonight lol. Anyone that enjoys that needs to step into Neyland and see something that's actually exciting.

Pacquiao: 'I thought I won the fight, he didn't do anything'| Pacquiao vs. Mayweather - GMA News Online Special Coverage

Someone who just fought Mayweather says what many people have always said after a Mayweather fight... "he didn't do anything".

Espn posted the official stat line that had both fighters throwing over 400 total punches, within about 20 of each other.

If Mayweather threw 75% of the total punches Manny did, then I'd still question it.

That stat doesn't win a fight, but just reading it as officially counted as (almost) even, was ridiculous.

You take this one, I don't have the energy to explain the dumb right now, I'm too hungover.
I'm just glad all the overnight experts will go away until the Worldwide Leader tells them that there's another must see fight.

People payed $100 to watch Floyd be Floyd, and then complain about it. Makes me laugh, why would his approach be any different than it has been for over a decade?

Hey you're right. I rarely watch boxing, more of an mma fan, I guess I fell into the promotions and hype too much. I expected more than a pillow fight. Idk how you get hit over 150+ times and walk out looking like you left the salon. You're wrong on one thing though. I won't be interested in another boxing match until I do some research. But I doubt anything like that ever happens again in boxing. They don't have a face. The Russian brothers, mayweather, pacquiao are all old. They need a face. It's become a niche sport for the rich to flock to and the avid boxing fan(which is few and far between).

So you're telling me a guy who has never had an exciting fight in his life, save one idiotic night from Ricky Hatton, fought a boring fight last night? Color me shocked!

Think we'll hear from 1% of these guys the next time GGG fights? I highly doubt it.

He's a great promoter and marketer. As someone previously said, if he wasn't undefeated, no one would watch his fights. Every sport needs the "overnight experts" if they want long term viability. Boxing is on the decline and Mayweather's "modern boxing" is largely the reason.

The overwhelming majority of casual sports fans can name 2 boxers. So I'd say it's on the decline. Or were you saying mayweather is not at fault?

For the first time in years boxing is on free TV almost every weekend. A horrible fight just set huge PPV numbers, and everybody in the world is talking about it. But obviously the sport is dead.
