Mayweather & Pacquiao

Props to Mayweather for his style, and being undefeated. That being said, it's horribly boring, and he really ruined the sport for me and the general public. Hopefully in 10 years a truly good boxer will emerge and fix it, not slap and run around the ring.

Haha, you're not disliked for an opinion, you're disliked because you're ridiculous. I don't doubt that there's a good chance a great MMA fighter could survive against a boxer but, with MMA gloves, most boxers would stand and knock the fsck out most grapplers.

Floyd Mayweather certainly not being amongst them.

Exactly

Honestly, I don't think I can take anything you say seriously anymore.

Floyd was bleeding and Manny had zero damage inflicted to him

Good to know if I punch you once though, you'd beat me in the fight for giving me two hand jobs in retaliation. You made more contact so I guess that makes you the winner.

So remind me again, what is the sport that both guys participate in? Last time I checked it was called boxing. And you can make all the uneducated analogies you want. But here are the facts that you and the other Floyd haters will just have to accept:
1) Floyd threw more punches
2) Floyd landed more punches
3) Floyd landed more power shots
4) Floyd is one of the best defensive fighters in the history of boxing
5) Manny is one dimensional
6) Manny, like almost every other of Floyds opponents, was just to slow to hit Floyd with anything significant.
7) Defense is just as big of a part of boxing as offense
8) It's not Floyds fault that his defense is good enough to neutralize everybody's offense

It's really good to know that people like you are not judging boxing matches.

And here's a page of MMA fighters tweeting about the fight....

Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao in Tweets: Pros react to Mayweather's decision win - MMA Fighting

Basically every single one was pulling for Pacquaio as they know what real fighting is and that Mayweather is not a real fighter, just a boxer.

One of the MMA fighters literally said...

And he's right. I said a 51 year old couture could win a fight against 38 year old Mayweather but I realized that's too obvious as Couture was a great fighter. That's why I turned to saying a newly signed UFC fighter without a UFC match under his belt would also embarrass Floyd in the first round. Now you have an actual UFC fighter upping my point by claiming that Floyd would lose a female fighter. Again, it's probably true because Floyd's not a fighter, he's a boxer. When people say "watching the fight tonight" it's totally misleading. They should say "watching the match tonight" as it's not a fight.

Don't care if I'm disliked because my opinion, I just don't care. Just like boxing just doesn't care what matches take place and when. Anyways, I'm just calling it like I see it and I know what a fight looks like as well as what the end result of a fight looks like. That was not a fight last night. I've seen a pair of 10 year old brothers go at it harder than that and inflict more damage while play fighting. As Manny said, Mayweather didn't do anything and Manny's face showed as much. He looked about the same as when he walked into the ring.

I love when MMA fighters think their sport is somehow more "real." What a joke. Rousey would murder Floyd in an MMA fight. Floyd would kill her in a boxing match. Same with Randy. You should just stick to MMA.

I sure didn't see many of those. I will never buy PPV again for a boxing match unless it involves two great heavyweights...so in other words, I will probably never buy one again.

Would a good boxer beat an MMA fighter in a boxing match? Yes. But you throw MMA gloves on Mayweather and send him in the ring with Jose Aldo, and he's leaving on a stretcher under MMA rules. He wouldn't be on his feet for long. Also I'm not certain he'd win in a stand-up fight. Muay-thai and the kickboxing aspects would get him destroyed as well. You like boxing, that's fine, it's a fine sport but not my cup of tea. I like the more well balanced fighting tactics of MMA. Also the guy saying boxing should be called a "match" is pretty spot on. That was not a fight.

And I wouldn't win a greyhound race, but could easily beat a greyhound at golf.

Just tired of the crying about this, it was a fight between a shot former steroid user and an excellent defensive counterpuncher, if you were clueless enough to see the fight playing out much differently than it did, well, a fool and his money are easily seperated.

I was 100% confident this fight would end the way it did.............I dont think anyone really thought it would go any other way.

Which is exactly why I didn't watch. Even for free on AFN

Being on free tv shows its dead. If wrestlemania shows up on free tv it would show wwe is dead. Boxing left free tv because it didnt need it...now it does. That fight was a joke. It was a joke.

I am more kissed at Manny. He let him off the ropes every time and threw zero uppercut when he had him on the ropes.

Why doesn't super bowl go to ppv?

I don't watch much boxing at all and it's the first fight I've seen since Tyson vs Lewis in 2002. If that's the fight of the century, it's going to be a boring century. It reminded me of Hagler and Sugar Ray from when I was a kid (another over - hyped event). No memorable exchanges. Just a big tease. Pacquiao wouldn't increase his aggressiveness even when it was clear he was behind in the late rounds.

So what I really want to know is, how pumped is everybody for Canelo v Kirkland this weekend?

Oh, wait. What? Almost nobody even knows who those guys are? Cool.

"We have an MRI scan that confirms he has a rotator cuff tear. He has a significant tear," orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache told ESPN's Dan Rafael. ElAttrache said Pacquiao will be out of action between nine months and 12 months. The day for the surgery hasn't been set.
