MCU phase 4 rumor and discussion thread

I'm pretty sure that was a rumor put out last night and while it hasn't been debunked, several who were sharing it have backed off.

Although the guy that broke the original Sony/Marvel deal in 2015 is still reporting that we'll hear good news soon. But I think this thing is mostly fan fiction.

Seemed too good to be true.

So they're gonna make a live action moving based off the 80's cartoon Spider-Man and his amazing friends?.........yeah I'm calling bs on this.

It’s a little too detailed for future plans but honestly I think it would kill. Get Aunt May a Lhasa Apso... Shhhheeewwwww.....

assuming 80s nostalgia still going strong by the time they get to it.

Ross Marquand wants to play Moon Knight. If that name doesn't sound familiar, he plays Aaron in The Walking Dead and he played The Red Skull in Infinity War and End Game. He's a life long Marvel Comics fan and reader and Moon Knight is one of his favorite characters.

Based on Holland and Feige's comments today, it's not looking good for SM in the MCU. I still don't think it's completely over but it blows my mind it's gotten to this after all the success SM has had in the MCU.

If nothing gets worked between Sony and Marvel, then I feel like that both sides will have to pretend that the events of Far From Home never happened.

I don’t think Holland is privy to any real negotiations. He’s known to be a leaker.

Feige isn’t going to show his hand publicly.

I personally think that was more PR than anything, and they said what they could. I still think a deal will be worked out but it may take longer than thought.

I also remember when Gunn was fired that took a good while to fix, and in that I'm pretty sure Marvel or Disney one came out and pretty much said he's not coming back, and that hasn't happened by either side yet.

MCU wise I don't think they even had a movie coming out anytime soon that had to really deal with it. Black Widow is a prequel and I don't see why they'd reference FFH in any way. The Eternals probably wouldn't either. I think the Doctor Strange sequel probably would have been the first movie to possibly reference it.

Sony definitely can't, but they could make it a psuedo-sequel where he's on the run because his identity is known but just never really mention why. Another issue for Sony is if they reuse The Vulture or Mysterio, then they can't even mention their motivation for going bad. They'd either have to retcon it or just ignore it.
