What in the gad zooks world is going on? We can’t afford to be dropping good players! Sounds like the staff didn’t even try to have a conversation with him. Cmon Heup, relationship management 101! They’re 18 year olds, friggin talk to them and help them through what has to be a really hard experience for them in their first year at school with an entirely new coaching staff! Despite your weird typing, I could see that being true. That despite him having surgery, his "ain't wanna be here" was that he didnt hold up the physical expectations and let himself get out of shape. I dont know what you can do with a torn labrum but I know you can control what you eat. Dont know. Best of luck to this young man.
