The facts are simple. We will not do well under this staff in recruiting until after kids see the product on the field. Heupel needs to recruit, but right now, the very best thing he can do is ensure that Spring Practice goes as well as possible. He needs the current players to be as in tune to his system as possible. He needs to show IMMEDIATELY that he has a product that can work in the SEC. Doesn't mean he has to win big games immediately, but needs to show he isnt Pruitt and that he can score points. THAT will be his recruiting pitch.

Fact: He is at least the 3rd blue chip player of the last class to leave, not even counting transfers. Also fact: this team won 3 games last year, and needs every capable body it can get. I don’t have a clue if Heupel will work out long term but maybe, just maybe, he’s wanting certain types of players for his system that isn’t a good fit for Evans?

You made it seem like Heupel and the coaching staff are idiots for this decision but you don’t know what happened behind the scenes.

Heupel has only been here for like 4 months now and is already being blamed for something that might have been for the better.

Need to replace him with a DL transfer. Need to keep our numbers up on the DL, don't need situations we have been in, in the past with lots of injuries then only a handful of guys that can play. Got to keep the front loaded for the unforseen.

Enough of this repetitive rhetoric. Go down the list of every program over there and tell the rest of the free world which ones are trending badly and where talent does not want to come and be a part of it. I guess there have been times of greater improvement but they do not jump off the page. The new AD gets a chance to concentrate MORE on football because of this, but both BB programs are trending nicely, baseball, both tennis, and others are on the rise. Softball has fallen to somewhere in the top 20, woooo. Track and soccer and volley ball are not falling off the face of the earth either.

CPF inherited a big mess and was fooled badly and therefore did not turn FB around. We will continue to pay the price till a staff can demonstrate a different trend and that is not gong to happen here till those here buy in or leave, and those that remain play like a team. We do not benefit from prolific players not bought in.... fans too, message board guys for sure. Discretion is as always the better part of valor, and we are in need of a lot of valor right now.

I agree that has what has brought us to this point but I believe that is starting to change.

Other schools are picking UT's carcass. Tampering is rampant with this transfer crap going on. I'd be disappointed if UT isn't doing the same thing. Of course, luring a kid to UF is much easier than convincing a kid to come to UTK right now.
