MSNBC’s Joy Reid has Smallest Quarterly Audience Since ‘The ReidOut’ Launched

'The ReidOut' has Shed 60% of audience among advertiser-coveted demo since inaugural quarter

MSNBC’s "The ReidOut" with host Joy Reid finished the second quarter of 2022 with its smallest audience since the program launched two years ago this month.

The quarter wrapped up before the long holiday weekend, revealing Reid’s program has shed viewers at an alarming rate since she took the place of Chris Matthews, who was forced to retire in March 2020.

Reid’s program averaged 1.1 million total viewers during the second quarter for its worst turnout since it launched. MSNBC’s 7 p.m. ET program also struggled among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25 to 54, averaging only 122,000 for its lowest quarterly total ever.

Soros takeover: Another Spanish radio star Bolts before Liberal group takes over conservative station

FIRST ON FOX -- Dania Alexandrino is the latest conservative Radio Mambi star to walk away from the Miami-based, Spanish-language station ahead of a planned takeover by a George Soros-linked liberal group.

Alexandrino will join fellow now-former Radio Mambi host Lourdes Ubieta at Americano Media, a recently launched conservative news organization that has been aggressively pursuing Radio Mambi personalities who refuse to work for the Soros-backed group.

Alexandrino found out that the Soros-backed group was looking to acquire Radio Mambi earlier this year and immediately knew she wouldn’t be able to work for anyone linked to her nemesis, Democratic Rep. Darren Soto.

Dania Alexandrino informed Radio Mambi of her decision to exit the company on Monday before a group linked to liberal billionaire George Soros takes over.

I'm surprised she gets 1M viewers. It's a low intelligence show.

Trust in news collapses to historic low

Percentage of Americans who say they have "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in newspapers and television news

Americans' confidence in newspapers and television news has plummeted to an all-time low, according to the latest annual Gallup survey of trust in U.S. institutions.
Why it matters: The erosion of trust in media is one of the most significant signs of deepening polarization in America.
  • Political party affiliation has become the primary driver of opinions about the media's trustworthiness, as Gallup has noted.
  • A 2021 poll from Pew Research Center found that Republicans are far less likely to trust media sources that are considered "mainstream."

Man in Underwear Walks Through CNBC Segment on Live TV

A morning TV segment on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” quickly turned south when it got interrupted not only by a barking dog, but also by a man in his underwear.

CNBC anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin was interviewing Aureus Asset Management CEO Karen Firestone early Monday when the pair were interrupted by the sound of a barking dog.

Sorkin responded to the racket by quipping it was just a sign of the “dog days of summer” on Wall Street. But as he proceeded to ask Firestone where markets are headed this fall, a man in his underwear could be seen scampering across the background of CNBC’s live shot.

CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin did not acknowledge the blooper.

ESPN is a sinking ship unless they are showing a game a particular fanbase is interested in watching. Anything else that used to get good ratings is worse than CNN now. So they continue to sink giving out an ESPY to an athlete who decided to compete for China in the Olympics.

Alex Jones' company files for bankruptcy amid Texas trial to award damages to Sandy Hook families

New York (CNN Business) Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' primary company filed for bankruptcy protection on Friday, an unexpected move that comes as a trial is underway in Texas to determine how much in damages he will have to pay the families of two Sandy Hook victims who sued and won a default judgment against him.

Jones' decision to seek bankruptcy protection for his company, Free Speech Systems, which operates the right-wing conspiratorial outlet Infowars, also comes after he was found legally responsible in a separate defamation case in Connecticut.

Report: Mass Layoffs Coming This Month to CNN Parent Company Warner Bros. Discovery

Mass layoffs are reportedly in the works at Warner Bros. Discovery, the new parent company of the far-left CNN, with Discovery executives seeking to slash headcount as early as next week.

August had long been rumored to mark the start of the mass layoffs, with the first wave expected as early as next week as the honeymoon period for the recently merged media empire draws to an end, according to a report from Deadline.

Thousands of workers are reportedly expected to be impacted by the layoffs, which are expected to stretch through Thanksgiving.

New York Times employees ‘very angry’ as company stalls on pay-hike discussions

new-york-times-building-02.jpg

The long and drawn-out negotiations between New York Times journalists and management are at a boiling point nearly a year and half after the last contract expired — and more than two years without a pay hike.

“People are very angry,” said one insider, echoing what other sources also told The Post. “The company is basically offering the same kind of wage increase they did when they were losing money.”

In addition to an 8% raise, the News Guild labor union is demanding a cost of living increase of 5.25% — and insisting that all workers who can work remotely retain that option indefinitely, and for no mandatory return to offices before July 2023.
