These Are the Top-Rated Cable News Shows for Oct. 2021

Well, October is complete, and for the first time since the show launched a decade ago, The Five is ending a month as the most-watched show on all of cable news, moving past powerhouse Tucker Carlson Tonight in average total viewers (Carlson is still No. 1 among adults 25-54). An impressive ascent.

Led by The Five, Fox News is home to nine of the 10-most-watched cable news shows for October, and 13 of the top 15, with the other two hailing from MSNBC.

Cuomo Primetime was the most-watched show on CNN for October, coming in at No. 23 (811,000 viewers on average).

Here are the 10 most-watched cable news shows for Oct. 2021, as per live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen.

Report: Fox News Demolishes CNN During Primetime Even With Left-Leaning Viewers

As if things couldn’t get worse for CNN, a new report shows that even left-leaning viewers prefer Fox News, a conservative-leaning news outlet. It seems that CNN’s decision to go full Democratic Pravda over the past four years continues to backfire.

More Democrats are watching Fox News during prime time than CNN, according to data from Per Nielsen MRI Fusion.

New York (CNN Business)Anchorman Brian Williams, a 28-year veteran of NBC News and MSNBC, said Tuesday that he is leaving the company at the end of this year.

"This is the end of a chapter and the beginning of another," Williams said in a statement. "There are many things I want to do, and I'll pop up again somewhere."

For the past five years, Williams has anchored "The 11th Hour," an end-of-the-day newscast and political talk program. CNN Business reported in August that his contract was expiring in the next six months and that he wanted to move off the late-night hour.

As the Toilet Water Swirls: CNN's Primetime Viewership Collapses an Astonishing 73 Percent

On this episode of “The Most Trusted Name in News™”…

How low can they go? CNN’s ratings, I mean. New quarter, same results: Fox News Channel was the most-watched basic cable network in the 24-hour daypart for the final quarter of 2021. While Fox averaged 2.37 million total viewers in primetime, CNN slithered across the finish line with just 642,000. Ouch.

And who can forget the disgraced former CNN anchor, Chris Cuomo? Listen, when this guy is your clean-up hitter, it’s only a matter of time. And that time continues to come. Reality, CNN, deal.

Meanwhile, CNN continued to tank, averaging just 492,000 total viewers across the 24-hour day time (total day) in the fourth quarter. As noted by TVNewser, the 492,000 was down 18 percent from third-quarter 2021, 67 percent down from fourth-quarter 2020, and an astonishing minus-73 percent compared to fourth-quarter 2020.

They've got to be losing money. Their management and television personalities have destroyed the company.

At least MSNBC viewers know they're watching comedy.

Nolte: Report Says MSNBC Will Fire Homophobe Joy Reid

Joy-Reid-Capitol-ReidOut-background-getty-640x480.jpg

One of Twitter’s blue checkmarks is reporting that “Joy Reid will lose her 7p show in the next round of reshuffling at MSNBC.”

Jon Nicosia, a former managing editor at the far-left Mediaite, says a source at Comcast assures him Reid will be gone by spring. Her firing will be blamed on ratings, but the real reason is that she is not only “unmanageable,” but like disgraced former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, Reid’s Comcast allies “have found out she has been ‘less than truthful about past incidents.'”

Nicosia added that like Cuomo and CNN, “MSNBC/Comcast [will] defend her right until the announcement.”

CNN’s Brian Stelter, a far-left conspiracy theorist, immediately ran to Reid’s rescue.

“There’s a tweet making the rounds about Joy Reid, claiming she’s on the way out at MSNBC,” the basement-rated Stelter tweeted. “An MSNBC rep is wasting no time in pushing back: ‘It’s bogus.'”

Former Co-Host: Joy Reid Created ‘Most Toxic Work Environment I’ve Ever Experienced’

A former co-host of MSNBC’s Joy Reid has come forward alleging she created an unbearably toxic work environment and once threatened him with physical violence over ten years ago.

“Andre Eggelletion, former lead host of the [Wake Up South Florida] morning show with Reid, recently spoke out about her for the first time in more than a decade, saying Reid created “the most toxic work environment I’ve ever experienced” and threatened him with violence,” reports Fox News.

“It was a very unhealthy work environment because of her attitude. She attacked me on a constant basis while I was there. I was even once threatened with physical violence during a break with her,” Eggelletion told Fox News, who said the incident arose after Reid protested covering an unspecified news report.

“There was a dispute over it and I told her, ‘Go ahead and call the manager’,” Eggelletion said.

Reid allegedly shot back, “If you ever speak to me like that again I’m coming over there and it’s gonna be me and you.”

Lee Michaels, Syndication One’s national program director, recalls bringing the incident up to management, which led to a sit-down between Reid and her bosses.

“I talked to the general manager and I told him this has to be dealt with in a very firm manner because it was inappropriate and it just can’t be tolerated,” says Michaels.

From torture to drone strikes: the disturbing legal legacy Obama is leaving for Trump

Surprisingly VOX came in with this hard hitting article.

Fascinating read from a few years back. Randomly came across it. Glad I did.

“The worry, then, seems to be that Trump lacks Obama’s strong moral compass and penchant for cautious deliberation, and thus will be much more frivolous about who we do and don’t target with drone strikes.”

Pretty much gets to the heart of today’s Democrats. When they are killing children with drones, it’s ok, because of their strong moral compass.

Still surprised to see this from VOX. Well done.
