Pennsylvania school Removes CNN from classrooms, can choose patriotic videos instead

One mom says watching the program is 'feeding [her son] every day that CNN is a label you can trust'

A Pennsylvania school board voted to end mandatory streaming of a CNN-affiliated program in its middle school amid arguments that such broadcasts are biased.

The Norwin School Board voted 5-4 Monday to end requiring homeroom teachers to show students CNN 10, which is described as "compact on-demand news broadcasts ideal for explanation seekers on the go or in the classroom."

Teachers will now use their discretion on whether to keep TVs turned off, show the newscast, or show patriotic videos on events such as Veterans Day or the attack on Pearl Harbor, Trib Live reported.

MSNBC ratings in crucial 25-54 Demographic Slump by 30% after star Rachel Maddow's departure: 60,000 fewer young viewers tune in to woke network's flagship show

  • MSNBC's ratings in the crucial 25 to 54 age demographic have dropped 30 percent since Rachel Maddow began her hiatus earlier this month
MSNBC's ratings in the crucial 25 to 54 age demographic have dropped a whopping 30 percent since Rachel Maddow began her hiatus earlier this month, and now the network is looking to have her current stand-ins replaced.

Maddow, who hosted the network's marquee prime time news program, has since been temporarily replaced by Ali Velshi and Alex Wagner for the 9 pm ET time slot.

A total of 201,000 viewers in that age bracket watched Monday's show - down around 60,000 sets of eyes on the previous week. Around 1 million people in total watch Maddow's show.

However, news reports state she may not be permanently returning to her 9 pm show, as MSNBC plans for new replacements to take over the critical time slot amidst the drop in ratings.

Despite the grim ratings news, Maddow's stand-ins are still performing better among 25 to 54 year-olds than on CNN, whose star anchor Anderson Cooper now hosts the network's slot between 8pm and 10pm.

CNN Continues to Place a Premium on Content That Viewers Have Already Rejected

When the marketplace has already spoken, CNN chooses to ignore the message.

Picture yourself as a restaurant manager for a moment, one who is facing a curious challenge with a food item. With your entrees, you offer up a variety of accompaniments to go with a meal, but you notice a nagging detail. Looking in your walk-in storage all of your potatoes are going bad, and you then realize this is because very few people are ordering potatoes as a complimentary side dish. How do you address this problem?

No sane restauranteur would look over a pile of expired spuds and arrive at the conclusion that what needs to be done is doubling up the order of these rejected tubers and placing them on the menu at a now-inflated cost. Yet, this is the very decision that has been arrived at in CNN’s Atlanta offices. The announcement has been made that the in-house media guru, Brian Stelter, will have a new daily program on the upcoming CNN subscription service.

CNN turmoil: Déjà vu for interim boss Amy Entelis after overseeing ABC News' 'toxic' workplace for years

'ABC News is notorious for its toxic culture and Amy presided over that for many years,' a longtime media executive said

Media insiders think high-powered CNN executive Amy Entelis must be experiencing déjà vu running a scandal-plagued network after previously overseeing ABC News’s "toxic" workplace.

Entelis, who joined CNN in 2012, is part of the trio of CNN’s interim leaders in the wake of the stormy exits of network star anchor Chris Cuomo, CNN President Jeff Zucker, and his girlfriend and fellow CNN executive, Allison Gollust.

Entelis cut her teeth at ABC News where she held multiple high-level positions over 30 years and oversaw talent when the network hired future CNN personalities including Cuomo, Jake Tapper and Jim Sciutto. While ABC News served as a breeding ground for CNN, it also had a newsroom filled with headline-making issues of its own.

The Disney-owned news operation was known to be cold and unsympathetic to rank-and-file staffers, where the top priority for bloodless executives was to keep broadcasting legends Peter Jennings and Diane Sawyer happy.

"ABC News is notorious for its toxic culture and Amy presided over that for many years," a longtime media executive close to the situation told Fox News Digital. "Where is the accountability?"

The Associated Press Turns Prostitute

News to order: The Associated Press admits it’s taken $8 million from climate activists to write about their pet issues, so it’s “assigning more than two dozen journalists across the world to cover climate issues.”

If anyone had the least doubt what angle the resulting stories will take, the AP explained that it learned “that funders weren’t just being generous; they had their own goals to achieve.” Ya think?

Since the AP feeds newspapers, websites and TV stations across the country and even the world, the “donors” have a great chance of getting all their money’s worth in propaganda, even though all the resulting content is to be clearly labelled as such.

Sorry: This is news-as-prostitution. Pay the media to get the coverage you want.

We ran out of money. So we’ve punted on independence. Really?

For many years, Journalists and philanthropists were more wary of each other. News organizations were concerned about maintaining independence and, until the past two decades, financially secure enough not to need help. Philanthropists didn’t see the need, or how journalists could help them achieve their goals.

CNN's new Boss Chris Licht is 'working towards cease-fire on network's aggressive coverage of Fox News' and wants to Push Hosts Away From Trump-era 'opinionated and emotional' reporting and Back to Hard News

  • Chris Licht, 50, has already begun closed-door conversations with key figures at the conservative news network, two sources close to the matter said Tuesday
  • Licht made it known to the staffers that he is working towards a ceasefire on his network's now-notorious negative coverage of the competing news station
Incoming CNN boss Chris Licht plans to nix the network's left-leaning commentary when he assumes the role of president this May, insiders say, and has already engaged in talks with rival Fox News about halting its aggressive coverage of them.

Former CBS exec Licht, 50, who headed Stephen Colbert's Late Show for six years until it was announced he was replacing ousted boss Jeff Zucker last month, has already begun closed door conversations with key figures close to the conservative news network, two sources close to the matter told The Daily Beast Tuesday.

Licht reportedly told certain Fox reporters and agents to breathe a little easier because he is working towards a ceasefire after his network's unrelenting negative coverage of the competing news station.

The exec plans to push hosts like Don Lemon and Jim Acosta away from opinionated reporting that became especially prevalent during Donald Trump's election campaign and presidency. He wants to return to the station's roots as a hard-hitting news source, the insiders said.

So far, the insiders' assertions have proved credible - on Sunday, there were notably no Fox mentions on CNN's flagship media program, Reliable Sources, with Brian Stelter, who last year penned a book; Hoax: Donald Trump, Fox News and the Dangerous Distortion of Truth.

CNN founder Ted Turner's biographer Porter Bibb recently said that Turner and Malone 'adamantly' opposed 'what Zucker did with CNN, turning it into an opinion network, to compete with Fox and losing the concept of hard news 24/7.'
