Yet... Football takes 3 hrs+ and stops after every play while soccer is non-stop and takes 2 hrs
True, but if I enjoy those 3 hours more than the 2 hours of soccer then that’s an extra hour + I enjoy watching something i love that I only get 13 weeks out of the year to watch .

I can sit and watch one soccer match reluctantly , but football I can start watching at noon, go from channel to channel watching different games, then our game depending on what time it starts and then watch prime time games on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, U and SEC network.

And a team might actually score more than once.

Definitely not taking anybody to task for what they like. Just saying it's a matter of opinion and theres no real logic to it other than that.

I do find it interesting and entertaining how triggered and defensive soccer fans get when you say "I don't like soccer". Why does anyone care?
Definitely not "triggered" but if someone is going to say something dumb about soccer like it has "no defense" then I am going to retort.

Happens when you hate on anything.

I hate golf and baseball and think they are for the crippled rejects of other sports. Football players are those too slow and fat to play soccer or basketball.

Talk bad about Memphis bbq and people get plenty defensive. Talk about politics and people get defensive.

You mean 10 minutes of commercials for every 15 minutes of play? You must really enjoy those Flo commercials.

I will just spend my time watching a game instead.

That's what FF is for. Start the channel recording ... that's important because you can go back after changing channels to check out a few other games. Then go make some snacks, drinks, or whatever during the first part of the game. Go back to the kickoff and you've got plenty of buffer to skip commercials ... when you get caught up ... bathroom break, etc. Just avoid watching a game in real time ... except the end.

Now if I could just find a way to cure the real scourge ... the damn scroll and stupid stuff networks put on the screen to hide what they are trying to show you. Those people are absolutely dumber than a bag of rocks.

It’s just not for me. And I played for 6 years and was actually decent . I don’t care for the arguments about how it’s a worldly, “beautiful game” and how there is some culture, elitist attitude about how the American sports fan “doesn’t get it”. I’m aware there are arguments on both sides that are elitist, but there are not many more obnoxious fans than those American soccer fans who are experts for 1 month every 2 years and pretend it’s really going to take off this time. It won’t , its already an afterthought and that’s with every one looking at it under a political microscope as well.

The only way it will ever take off is if the men’s team ever meets, exceeds and advances to a high level in the World Cup or the Olympics.

If you simply said "I don't like soccer" the conversation wouldn't really go anywhere, but you've been talking about how much you don't like soccer for 2 pages, begging for mockery.

Begging for mockery? I don't think that's was what I was doing.

IMO it's a stupid no strategy game, if you enjoy it great more power to you.

I don't see the allure of running after a ball, kicking it down the field, and bouncing it off your head, all the while dressing like a jockey with shorts and long socks. To each his own.

I love baseball and all of it's intricacies yet I can understand why some people do not like it or even hate it. Doesn't get my panties in a wad.

I think that baseball can be very exciting because it ain't ever over till it's over. Of course, I played baseball and I do understand all of its intricacies. It is a very strategic game. Soccer did not exist in my area when I grew up, so I was not exposed to it on any level until much later in life..

Same here.

What's effing strategic about it? Let's not get three strikes guys!

The only interaction between the two teams at all is the pitcher and batter. Pretty much everything else is team mate passing to team mate.

Snooze

I like to play World Cup when I have non-soccer friends watching a game with me. You take a shot of beer every minute the clock counts, up to 90'. It's almost 8 beers and it forces you to pay attention while breaking up the monotony of the game. It's fun.
mmmmhmmmmmm
