I haven't seen the in-fighting. I did see where former player, now commentator, Carli Lloyd called them out over basically the same thing I said.

Carli Lloyd has called them out on social advocacy in the past, but the dust ups this year have been about team cohesiveness,taking selfies after playing poorly, etc.

Yeah, the group is obviously not cohesive, but I think people complaining about politics are still carrying the butthurt from 4 years ago.

The story from the start of every game was the majority of the team refusing to acknowledge the anthem being played.

Like every other team out there apparently.

I can't believe, especially on a Tennessee board, that so many root against the US. Politics aside, this is your country. Have some pride in that. Who effin cares what happened before.

It’s been an evolution towards this.

She said it stopped being fun when it stopped being about the actual games and competing. The culture changed dramatically.

Hopefully new blood, new attitude, and new culture come in and right the ship.
Get back to just playing soccer.

They actually played much better today than the first 3 matches, especially during regulation. Their speed gave Sweden issues.

Tactically speaking, I would have kept pressuring Sweden with speed in extra time....

Do you think coaching is part of the issue?

We need women willing to focus more on the game when they're in uniform, and on their social causes when they're not in uniform. I have zero problem with them expressing their social views. It's their right as Americans to do so. But when in uniform, they're on the job. Their focus should be the job, which is playing soccer. Most jobs do not allow you to freely go about expressing your political views, especially in what is viewed as contentious ways. FFS, I'd much more admire an athlete who took their time away from the field to espouse and support their cause. It would certainly ring more authentic and less a cry for attention and recognition.

When on the field, the only focus should be the game.
