Yes, that has to be the prime reason. The stadiums must be magically cheaper to build than other sports stadiums. All the sponsorship is charity work. Lol.

Soccer is so popular because it is accessible for anyone. Everyone can play soccer regardless of age, ability, or economic situation. This lack of barrier to entry allowed the sport to quickly spread around the world and become the most popular sport in the world today.

IDC if you bash Megan Rapinoe but at least have your criticism based in reality. She was a key part of the best run that any women's team has had in the history of the WWC. She is a winner. You don't get to rewrite history because she's over the hill now.

I think a lot of the drive by posters here think her missing that kick was her only appearance for the team or something. It's kind of like someone calling Tom Brady a loser after he lost to the Eagles in that Super Bowl.

I will admit to having some schadenfreude when she missed the kick, although I feel bad for any of her teammates who were there just to play and weren't really down with the social causes Rapinoe advocated for.

If football and baseball programs were still supported by schools this wouldn't be the case. To play HS sports now is a pay to play racket. We have to pay 2X the needed numbers of administrators 3X more than they are worth so we can sacrifice HS sports participation for those that can't afford the 3+k per year to play.

Said the 2019 managed to hold it together and win the Cup but the team was full of "activists" trying to "build their brand" instead of just win soçcer matches. Reading between the lines she was screaming that Rapinoe and Solo and the Socialist SuperLesbians had hijacked the team and soccer was an afterthought. ßhe was absolutely correct.

Assemble a team of the best College female soccer players in this country that are still hungry as Hell and PROUD to be AMERICANS and they would wipe the floor with any other country in the world. It isnt even close. A team full of America hating socialist bietches will never win another cup.

Also...if you don't have enough pride to stand up, put your hand cross your heart, and sing the National Anthem like you actually GIVE A DAMN about all those who died for thay flag then you should be automatically disqualified from the damn team. THIS team is supposed to represent the Red White and Blue. If you wanna put together a team and tournament to rep whatever the Hell you want to....feel free. Knock yourselves out...but the team that is sent around the world to represent AMERICA should actually love, respect, and support AMERICA.

We lost 3 straight WWC's putting our best non-woke team out there until Rapino got into her prime. It's likely getting more competitive as the $ gets better, too.
