Mel Kiper Take on Bray Entering the Draft

Part of me wants Bray to stay because that would be one less (maybe) question mark for next season. I am not that fond of Bray...and sorry, no matter how much any of you call me an idiot for thinking this, I do think that Bray has a sorry attitude and stats or no stats, he cannot win a big game. The fact is, as sorry as our defense was last season, the ball was in his hands on more than one occasion to win the game. The result? Interception, fumble, or playing pitch and catch with coach on the sidelines. He refuses to go through his progression to look at his other options. If his first receiver is covered, he either chucks it at him anyway or out of bounds.

I would rather give Worley or Peterman a shot. But I really wish him the best. When you look at his SEC record I think it's time we pass the ball to the next in line.

Hope he's gone.....Tired of his up and down games and poor attitude....Never know who is going to show up !

Stats dont lie, Bray had one good game against a top SEC opponent in SCjr. He choked against GA. He put up all his yards against cupcake teams, I wouldnt be sad at all to see him leave for the NFL. It is time for someone else to get a chance.

Stupid

The most idiotic stat in football being interceptions of recievers hands

You can have the stats, I'd rather see Wins

You're one of those people that think pitcher's wins mean something baseball don't you... That batting average is an important stat... That RBIs mean something...

I understand...

Why do you say he has a sorry attitude? You get to talk to him alot lol. You have no idea what kind of attitude he has.

I do think having a real ball coach will do him some good. I am all for him coming in with the right attitude (that he is not God's gift to football). I am sure if he doesn't, CBJ will get all up in his grill (should have been done many times last year).

Bray had the second best statistical season for a quarterback in Vols program history, behind only Peyton Manning's 1997 senior campaign in the record book.

Hows that for stats???That should say plenty.

Ok. It's my opinion. I've also had a career at reading people. What I have seen on the field is what I am basing my opinion on.

I think his attitude and play wouldbe drastically better under jones since he hated Dooley.

Rankings for Tennessee Offense vs. defense

scoring defense tied for 104th
scoring offense 23rd
total defense 109th
total offense 19th
rushing offense 63rd
rushing defense 86th
red zone defense 118th
red zone offense 29th
passing offense 16th
passing defense 110th
passing efficiency offense 33rd
passing efficiency defense 86th
first down defense tied for 88th
first down offense tied for 21st

Now tell me again what it was the Bray and the offense did to lose so many games?

I think Bray was one of those guys that is reflective of his opinion regarding his coach. Bray, as with most of the team, didn't respect nor did they like Dooley.

Hopefully Bray and CBJ/Bajakian can build a relationship. CBJ has iterated that he's not bound to one particular offense but I think prefers a more mobile QB. Given the success of mobile passers in college... I'd agree with him.

Okay. That was awesome. I was listening to Little Lion Man when I saw this gif. It was right around the 3:10 mark.

Ditto...but obviously CBJ runs the spread offense.
How well do you think Bray will work out in the spread? Is he mobile enough to keep the spread honest?

We ran a spread all year. Chaney is a spread guy. Look at tape of Cincy last year, the offense is not alot different than what we ran. Mainly shotgun, one back sets. If Bray wants to come back, I would love to see what he could do in this offense.

Plenty of idle stats is all it says. Peyton didn't play Troy State, GA State, and Ark State in 1997 did he? Compare the Tyler Brat 2012 SEC stats to Peyton's 1997 SEC stats and include the wins/losses. Yeah Peyton lost to FL but beat most every other SEC school. Tyler; well he competed and racked up stats against schools like St. Mary's School for the Blind..

Sure...if the defense was good it would have been a walk in the park. you spew out numbers and that is fine. no one will debate with you about how the defense sucked and the offense was good. However, as I stated before, the game was in Bray's hands numerous times in the season and he could not deliver when the pressure was on. Instead, he wants to taunt the Vandy sideline after he throws a TD pass in the first half of a game that we ended up losing pretty badly in.

No one can argue that he put up some numbers this year. It's his ability to win games when it matters that is being criticized. I am sure that Bray appreciates you defending his honor.

What about when he blew it in the georiga, mizzou, and MSU games? I've seen him have some pretty big let downs, some balls that I've said where the heck was that going. I think UT needs to move on.

Come on man, use some basic common sense. Why were we even in those games? Do you honestly think we have a chance to win those games in the end had Worley been the QB with Dooley as coach? The obvious answer is a definitive "no".

In the Georgia and Mizz game we gave up a total of 102 points and scored 92 points?? Trend maybe? MSU game we give up 41 points and scored 31 points. 30 or 40 points ought to win ball games right? Tyler blew it? lol

Some people are clueless when it comes to football and the importance of defense.
