Memphis scared of TN

From the research I have done on this topic...It is very clear that Memphis is, in fact, not scared of Tennessee. :rock2:

If I was a recruit, I would strongly consider Memphis... I mean, knowing that there is staff there to take care of all your leg-work as far as academics are concerned would give me more time to focus on developing my talent... I kid, I kid

UT fans needs to decide which way they want it. Either Memphis doesn't have any academics to speak of or the staff takes care of it for our athletes. You can't have it both ways.

Doesn't seem like much of an either/or situation to me :p

And I'd like to see some of the papers our football team has written over the years. I had one notoriously easy English professor who said, "Who am I to fail them? They aren't here for school."

Memphis's own graduates say all they can get with their degree is at a high school level.:birgits_giggle:

I don't think Memphis State is scared of UT. It's just that they have a constant erection for a program of UT's stature. Something they think they have but really don't.

we have been to the elite 8 (UT's high water mark) at least once in the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s. You have been 1 time in 100 years.

2 NCAA tournament wins for every one that UT has.

Again, Oh no!? What is he doing playing basketball in Memphis?! That is like the least likely thing a basketball player that lives in Memphis would be doing!!!

So all the hundreds of thousands of Vols fans need to agree on this? That might be a tall order.

All that and still no Championship banner or crystal football. You have nothing.

That's expected from an has-been football school. We do however have multiple dance team national championships (and yes that is a sport)

Also, didn't know if you heard already but we just hired Frank Matrisciano! Just in case you don't know who he is now he is considered by many as the number one Strength and Conditioning coach in the nation (not college basketball, the freakin nation!). And he is going to work at lil ole 'Tiger High' full-time.
Man I can imagine what this news is going to mean for new recruits (i.e. Jarnell Stokes)

One ESPN analyst quoted before Josh Pastner made the hire official as saying:

"If you get that done it will change the landscape of college basketball."
