'20 MI OL Justin Rogers (Kroger Field, folks)

When the LOM make a point (e.g. cruitin sucks, CJP sucks, staff sucks, he gone, we’ll never be relevant again, there’s a problem in the program, etc) and then die on the hill defending it, what exactly is the payoff? Assuming these things are true, what can any of us do to change it? Are we a better fan base when we’re miserable? Is my life better when I’m unhappy about things I can’t change? Am I a better person when I obsess over things I can’t change? Is the program more likely to improve because we are unhappy? Seriously, what’s the point?

We get fed sunshine for everything. People on here would have crucified you for saying Mike Debord was a bad hire when we made it. Just gets old. Pruitt had a pretty garbage year 1, talent or none, and recruiting is mostly lackluster. Offseason hires look great, but on field isn’t looking so hot yet.

No, he did a drive-by fruiting over in the basketball forum to critique the forward from Finland that visited this past weekend. A player he'd never heard of.

I'm excited waiting for his Bar-B-Que posts.

Actually, I like his potential. Although, I said based on the current situation I would rather use the scholarship on an impact grad transfer. Which in turn would also give them an extra scholarship in 2020. I think most would agree he's probably not likely to contribute much year one which seems like a must, especially sans Williams. I never said I'm opposed to taking him. I think he has the tools to become a nice player.

Explain to me how this "on field isnt looking hot" thing works in May?

Wonder how much whoever gets the last visit plays into this one. Seems a mixture of long term legitimate interest and post visit highs.

Sidenote: I hear force fed positivity is so intolerable, North Korea is using it for information abstraction.
The struggle is real😏

on the visits...not sure. seems like it would matter based on how after each visit he's taken there's been a new leader.

i think he probaby just enjoys the process, and in all the time of following recruiting, i don't know htat i've ever heard a prospect come out and say he had a "terrible visit, and it sucked". generally speaking, they all usually have glowing reviews of a visit weekend. there's just not going to be much to scoff at when these guys are visiting P5 programs.

and some kids know how to play it better than others....seems like he's one of them. which is fine.....

On the post visit highs, I was basing the possibility off of his demeanor being strong enough for media to change their predictions.
But yeah, general agreement on everything you said.

I thought the point of the forums was to encourage conversation. Not get upset with people bringing negative opinions to the table.
I’m not happy and I’ve made it known. And quite frankly I think it’s justified. You people that think it’s blasphemy are out of pocket. All you had to say was “I’m not concerned at this stage.” But instead you aggressively engage like I’m out of line for being critical.
Critical is fine. Discussing a timeline on firing the coach is a little premature, IMHO.

I mean seriously what did people expect last year with this team? We went 4-8 the year prior, we had zero NFL talent amongst upperclassmen, the worst Oline in the country which is not a position you snap your fingers and fix, and oh yeah Pruitt lost his best Olineman. Now I know some will point to the Missouri and Vandy games. We had zero chance in the Missouri game. Vandy shouldve been a close game but there were some players that quit. Now Pruitt bears some of the blame for that but I can't saddle him with a ton of blame for the players of the former regime quitting on him especially considering the "culture" that was instilled by Butch Jones.

And some people wonder why a recruit would troll VolNation.. The answer lies in the last few pages of this thread....

Lots of good 'fishin holes' here....

2017 recruits were asked who the most annoying fans on social media were. Guess who won UT. There is a reason recruits love to troll us. We have one of the biggest fanbases active on social media.

For all the good that brings it also brings the bad.

Considering Barnes' recent success in developing players, I'd be circumspect about bashing this staff for taking a developmental player to close out the 2019 class.

That's kind of what I was saying. We really didn't need a poll to tell us that..
