I think CBJ said during his press conference that character is big with the players he recruits, so I don't think Dyer would be a take based off of that criteria.
To be honest. I don't even remember what happened with him at AU. What I do remember is a RB who was REALLY hard to take down. If he can keep his head on straight here it could be a win/win situation. We get an elite RB for a year or two, he gets the exposure he needs to show the NFL his attitude (I guess that is what everyone is referring to) has improved and he can be a great NFL RB.
Ha ha his "attitude" was not exactly the biggest problem. I'll give you the short version: guns, drugs, numerous run ins with the law, and a general disregard for any and all team rules.
Oh. Yeah. Attitude is a slight understatement then. But, if he promises to be nice, we should take him. He's a kick azz running back.
Hubbs was on the Sports Animal and he was asked if the staff would take a chance on Dyer and his response was he was leaning on the no side of it. Says that the staff will go with what they have.
I have been strongly opposed to pursuing him and (although I obviously haven't spoken to him since he left Auburn) I tend to think his story about straightening up is complete bull****.
But after missing out on everyone else I say give it a try. He only has to make it through one semester.
Translation...Yes we are going after him. We just are not going to tell anyone. If he signs, it wiil be a great surprise. If he doesn't, no one knew anyway, and there won't be anymore meltdowns in Vol Nation.
I've been taking Coach Speak lessons![]()
I kind of like Hubbs. But to be honest I have to agree with you Biker. I think they are going after him. He has a had talks with the coaching staff and is following them on twitter as well as some of the players. Ah WTH give him a shot what is their to lose. If he works out brilliant move if not show him the road.
I wasn't saying anything against Hubbs.
I just really wouldn't blame CBJ if he wanted to keep this quiet. He was very open about the majority of the people we were recruiting and while I appreciated it, it did seem to blow up in his face, as far as some fans are concerned, when they didn't sign.
