Well if he wants to be on ESPN U every week

ESPU is part of the SEC package. Not just UT is on ESPN U. Plus its better than not being on at all. Never seen people bit%ch about so much unnecessary stuff in my life. It it was ESPN 2U at 830a it would be *****ed about too late, ESPN at 11 then its too early. If CBS then its the announcers. Truely amazes me.

that 175 fine cost a Arky state trooper his job..cited Dyer for speeding ignoring pot and gun in car
Arkansas trooper fired over Michael Dyer traffic stop - ESPN

I already read that article. Again what exactly has he done that makes him trouble? If you think football players dont smoke weed then your crazy. Did he have a license for the gun and was it his or stolen? Now if it was stolen, used in a crime or the numbers filed off then thats different. But dont think thats the case, not to mention did they prove who's pot it was or drug tested? Point being nothing has come out that shows he is a huge problem child.

Get him right now so he can go through spring practice!! Get him in football shape, learn the offense and theres our 5 star RB for 2013!!

They say thats why a lot of kids like going to Oregon cause its basically a slap on the wrist there. Smoking weed is the most over hyped crime there is!

Let's be real here, he's 10x more talented than any RB on the roster. I say go for it, if the kid wants to play on Rocky Top

I'm not sure if that gun was registered..I think it was different than the one he gave to a teammate who used it to commit an armed robbery

Dyer's star began to fall last winter, when police traced a gun he owned to an armed robbery involving four teammates the previous summer. Earlier this year, Dyer told a jury at the trial of former wide receiver Antonio Goodwin that he had smoked synthetic marijuana with all four suspects just before the alleged robbery, and let Goodwin borrow the gun. Dyer wasn't charged in the case (Goodwin was convicted in April; the other three suspects are still awaiting trial), but he was subsequently suspended for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl and was off the team for good a few weeks later. Before his dismissal from Arkansas State, the NCAA ruled Dyer would have to sit out the upcoming season and return in 2013 with two years of eligibility remaining.

Agreed. He would look great in Orange and really improve our run game. Just not grtting the whole headcase and trouble label. There are much worse things he could have done. Oh well I am finished trying to argue for him. Hopefully he gets a shot at UT and if not then we will be fine.

Ok I wasnt sure. Juat dont see a big deal honestly but I know CBJ has to be careful in his first yr especially. Just hope he takes a shot on him, really wont hurt to give him a shot and instantly becomes our most talented RB.

The read option needs a solid RB for it to be successful. Not saying Neal and Lane cant succeed in it but having a top back like Dyer would make me feel better. He would also push Neal and Lane and the competition would only make them better imo.

Agreed..its a win win situation and if he does well it looks great on CBJ.

He's an 18 year old that made a bad decision. I've done it (although not of this magnitude), you've done it... everyone's done something stupid at that age.

If he has learned his lesson, he deserves a second chance. Maybe focus on football is exactly what the kid needs to stay out of trouble again...

Jones vets. We wait until he decides if he hasn't already. If yes, we cheer. If no, we cheer.

Don't need the turmoil!

Highly doubt there would be any. Any of the hundred and something players could cause turmoil at any time. The reward far outweighs the risk. But either way I am sure CBJ does his homework anx makes the best decision.

Not opposed to adding Dyer, though I think Jones should make sure the other players on the team are ok with it.
