Michael Dyer - now Louisville bound (merged)

What's your opinion of the possibility that Dyer is a Vol?

Just keep a little information in mind when you are wanting to put thugs on campus, this does threaten the safety of the other students, like myself. I'm not saying this kid in particular is a thug or that people don't change, but there's been a correlation between the athletes and robberies in the past. Just something to consider when looking at a prospect

I guess you never leave your dorm either do you? Probably just as much at risk or more going to a club, bar, or party.

I don't see the risk.
We have the schollys.
Room him with Tiny.
If Dyer doesn't fit it, you bounce him.
If he keeps to the program, he'll average 6 ypc behind a great Oline.
The kid's gotta know he has one shot to sign a 10mm contract. If he cares abt his mother, he should be ok.

With Dyer wearing Orange, the Oregon game will be the game of the week.

Agreed. A stud RB behind our O-line and the season just got interesting.

the vols are not that desperate. they don't need to be. CBJ will run a clean program and will recruit the kind of kids that will make this university proud both on the field and off. i'm thinking i have more faith then a lot of you guys.

Bringing in Dyer wouldnt make dirty. I doubt you know what he's going to do. He has supposedly already contacted Dyer. If true there goes your insider info.

Are you saying the marijuana looking substance that was found in his position when he was arrested was actually not marijuana? Or it wasn't his?

It was supposedly the other guy that was with him's pot. The other guy threw it out of the car and Dyer wasnt arrested for weed. What else you got Cheese?

Yea its what they called the Dean on Old School. Your reply instantly gave me the vision of that guy.

That's funny, because this comment made me think of someone yelling Cobra Kai. I think you're maybe the guy not smiling. Btw, I'm for them going after Dyer.

Lol, I actually laugh a good bit. But Bobby was my fave Cobra Kai. He was the only one not a Dick, so yea that could be me actually.

Not racist when the player in question allowed teammates at Auburn to use his handgun to commit an armed robbery.

So if Dyer was your son you wouldnt want UT to give him a chance to prove he has changed? Wasnt like he robbed or killed anyone nor was he selling or doing drugs.

He did lend his gun for a robbery to some teammates.

Close enough.

But I still want him.

"allowed" teammates to use his handgun to "commit armed robbery" is not a true statement. Would you like to reword that?

I can't link the article but if you search for

"CBS sports dyer's handgun used in robbery"

It's all there.

Coaches feel good about RBs they have on board and just signed in Lee.

Chemistry is important to the coaches.

Dyer isn't a fit and won't be part of the Vols roster come Fall.

- Per Gruden

1.) How would Gruden know who is a good fit for our program?

2.) I seem to remember Cam Newton stumbling at a big school and making the most of his chance the second time around. It is foolish to not consider Dyer.

This thread will prove as irrelevant as the Gruden thread(s).

The debate of trouble v. talent is applicable to many situations the Tennessee football team will face now and in the future.

Irrelevant is hardly the word I would use to describe this quandry.
