Programs that score below 925 (this is the Mendoza line ... if you can't hit this, you're just not trying) on their four-year rate and can lose up to 10 percent of their scholarships through immediate penalties. Programs that dip below 900 - there weren't any this year - face additional sanctions and can also face historically based penalties for poor academic performance over time.
If my math is correct, the next report for 2011-2012 will be issued in June 2013... requires the Vols to have an APR of 937 to result in a multi-year APR of 930. (if the desired multi-year is 925, only an annual APR of 917 is required).
If Dwyer gets his act together, there is enough margin in the APR for the Vols to take a risk on the two-time 1,000 yard rusher and BCS National Championship Game MVP. Its definitely an upgrade at the position and with a new QB starting this year would put less pressure on the QB. IMHO, I say go for it.
