Michael Sam, Missouri DE, Is Gay

Kind of disrespectful to the guy with all these media members making statements like " I dont think it'll have a big impact on his draft status".

Look, I get it. Its the first time for this to happen, and to a point it mereits some coverage based on that alone, but c'mon. He's a good football player and was gonna get to the NFL prior to "coming out". I say we move on. Bigger fish to fry than worrying about what a future millionaire elects to do in his private life with a companion.

Agree 100%. It will be interesting to see how high he goes or falls based on this.

I have always felt that anyone that feels threatened by homosexuality is not confident in their own sexuality.

x1000...Ted Haggard is a perfect example, crusade against "Them evil godless homo's!!111" Then is caught snorting coke off a male prostitutes boner. But it's ok, he loves Jesus!

It's rage inducing to see people put down an entire group of people, and hide behind the facade of religion....

Bible thumpers are the absolute biggest hypocrites in the world....When the hell does Ol' Jesus even say a damn thing about homosexuality anyway? I'll wait.

Why should they be?

Because some big, bad football players are uncomfortable?

If they didn't know people were gay there wouldn't be any uncomfortable feelings.

That being said, I'm a strong anti-gay supporter and I never had an issue showering with some of my gay teammates who I'd known to be gay for years.

The media could care less about those because it's not a "hot button issue".

I didn't mention the media.

I mentioned hypocritical bible thumpers who pick and choose which sins are worth speaking out against...I never mentioned the media, you did.

Fornication and kids born out of wedlock run rampant in professional sports. According to God's law those are sins...yet you rarely hear anyone speak out against these sins.

‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

Sounds straightforward to me.

What's sad is you're probably serious.

If you took PE in high school, or played football in high school or college, chances are you've showered with gay dudes and never knew it.

The equity runs in both directions. Would it be OK if I watch your wife or girlfriend shower? I promise its not sexual and you will barely know I'm there.

And out of wedlock births, which are reaching epidemic levels in certain parts of this country, are much more damaging to our society than homosexuality.

I mentioned the media because it's a strong platform for both sides. Probably more so to the side of gay supporters.

My point is that people don't care what the opinions of Christians are on topics like fornication/adultery are. Why? Because there's no argument there. People don't care because it's a simple yes/no debate of whether you approve or don't.

Really?

You're equating a football team showering after practice to you watching my wife shower...as if every gay guy is physically attracted to every other guy on the team.

Keep posting though, it's interesting to watch your thought process unfold.

I don't know. Caught it on a national radio show. Maybe it was wrong.

I know a few teams asked Manti Te'o that question. Although I got the impression that they were asking simply to see if it bothered him to be asked. The answer to the question wasn't really important.

Exactly...Played football my entire life, and worked at a place recently that required taking a shower after leaving the facility. Not once did I ever have to fend off getting hit on by a dude or anything...

That's you, it's not everyone.

I give you a pass because you're young.

I grew up in a Christian family. It's simply what I believe. I'm fully aware people don't understand (or don't care) of how someone can believe in a book or what someone said thousands of years ago.

To each his own.
