Pretty sure nowadays when someone announced they are gay and wants to be the first openly gay man in football, it's him announcing his sexual preference.

Great point.

I suppose I just think part of what sparks the debate is national attention to someone 'coming out' and their proclaimed heroism. The sooner it becomes trivial, perhaps the sooner people just don't think about it and decide to piss and moan about something else.

As you said though, this nation is what it is and people are going to be who they are. Maybe in another generation or two things will be different.

Yeah maybe in a couple generations we can have sex with anything and it's cool wit everyone. Soon we an walk around with animals in our purses (even men can in a couple generations) and when people come up they can ask. "Oh! Is this your pet or your lover?"

Which is your interpretation. The problem is that they can't talk. We don't know what they want, so it isn't ACTUALLY interpretable. That is why there is a difference. I feel like I am teaching Intro to Logic here.

The definition of innate isn't likely what you were searching for. Innate means natural.

I think you can be born naturally heterosexual or homosexual. Brain chemistry dictates it IMO. Some people choose it as a lifestyle, sure, but I believe that is a serious minority. Sometimes people are traumatized by severe sexual experiences at a young age, this can alter your sexuality as well.

If you believe in brain chemistry at all, I don't know how you can't fathom that it is possible that people are just born that way.

Exactly my point. I soo want to live in a world where this isn't news because it isn't. Being gay shouldn't be shocking, it's just one aspect of many that makes up who a person is and that characteristic doesn't make that person any different from anyone else and it doesn't define them either.
