It's just more evidence that the left does not like this country, it's history/traditions, and about 50% of it's citizens

How is footage of mouthing evidence of anything? That's just silly.

Divisive ideology is the problem here, if you ask me. This "leftist" group of voters you're talking about happens to make up a big part of this country, so you're pretty much telling around 30% of the country to get ****ed.

Trust me, neither party knows dick about this country's history/traditions when any of their members finds themselves behind a pulpit and in front of a teleprompter.

depends on your definition of love

No it doesn't. The left loves this country. There may be some on the right that love it more than some on the left as there might be some on the left that love it more than some on the right. A ton of our officers from WWII were liberal Democrats. I've seen a lot of hardcore conservatives make outrageous claims about loving this country more than others, but then show an inordinate amount of hate for other Americans.

who are these liberal democrat military officers? There might have been a bunch of southern democrats, but there was not this horde of liberals, per the modern worldview, that you're claiming.

Ok. Whatever you say. Southern democrats. The modern worldview of liberals is different today than it was 50-60 years ago. I never claimed it was the modern worldview, or more appropriately, the modern misperception.

So Jane Fonda, Michael Moore, Rosie O'donnel love this country and are proud to be Americans?

Lets be honest, they dont like our Constitution b/c it was written next to a bible, they hate our Exceptionalism, and they dont like our Military

call it what you want, but you were trying to imply liberalism in a significant number of WWII officers and I'm calling that BS. A southern democrat was generally a conservative who tended to support FDR because his programs often aimed at helping them. All of those types departed the democratic party when it went legitimately liberal and started siding with outfits like the ACLU.

Apparently you have no idea what I was trying to imply. YOu can call BS all you want. I know exactly what a southern Democrat is, not was, because there are more left than you think. I am calling BS on a significant number of them leaving the party. Would like to see a list because I've known some personally. That is the same BS thinking that Truman would be a republican were he alive today. Seen the argument about JFK as well, which is BS too

so what in the hell were you trying to imply when you called a bunch of WWII officers liberal democrats? Your personal examples don't have anything to do with the trend. We can all spout about someone who bucks the trend, but that says diddly about the actuality.

As to who left the craphole party, look at the voting trends of the southern states since WWII and stop kidding yourself. The place was as democrat as possible for and following FDR. It isn't remotely so any more.

I don't give a crap what any dead politician would be today, but I can tell you for certain that my father grew up with 10 brothers and sisters in a fervently democratic household, and not a single one of them remained democrat at the time of my grandfather's death. I will say that Truman has as much in common with a modern liberal as gsvol does. JFK didn't care, he was just doing what his dad said worked.

I think we are arguing different things. I was not trying to imply those WWII Dems had anything in common with today's secular progressives. I was noting that a number of our military brass from the past were liberals and voted Democratically. Yeah, they had some conservative ideology about them. Heck, there are a number of Republicans who would be considered liberals in the true sense and not how it is perceived in today's world. One problem is that the progressives and secular progressives have taken over the party and are often mislabeled as liberals

No back peddling. I probably didn't make my point clear enough in the earlier post. So much has changed as far as party affiliaton and ideology are concerned that many people will often mislabel groups in their need to categorize. Someone made the claim earlier that 50% of the left don't love America(or something of that nature) and that's absurdly stupid. Far too often, people's actions are misguided due to their ideology. What some perceive as hate is just that, misperception. Just because someone burns the flag doesn't mean they hate this country.

Because anyone who leans to the left are exactly like Fonda. Moore, and O'Donnel. All liberals are that far out there.

Then why are the hardcore conservatives supporting Rick Perry? Since he has been governor of Texas, government jobs have grown 2.5 times the rate of private sector jobs.
