Michigan Investigated for Sign Stealing

Isn’t it amazing how the B1G and their holier than thou attitude that always looks down on the ethics of the SEC are always the ones w/ the most outlandish scandals ?

They had a interesting point on one of the sports talk shows today on Sirius XM. Michigan making the CFP would be a network ratings dream because everyone would be tuning in hoping they get beat every game. Never thought of it that way, I'm guessing the NCAA/CFP committee is praying they lose a game before then because can you imagine if they win it all then the verdict comes down for this mess! I'm hearing the B1G might hand down a 2 game suspension coming sometime this week.

As one of the penalties for violating the sportsmanship rule in the Big 10, the conference can bar a team from being on TV.

They would never use that but for a what if, how about UM makes the CFP but is banned from being on TV?

So…

Michigan was illegally obtaining signs

The Big Ten teams knew about this last year

Instead of reporting it, teams then conspired together and obtained Michigan’s signs (maybe illegally) and gave them to teams to try and take them down

Michigan ended up winning the Big Ten anyways

This whole thing has become stupid

You can’t be serious

They think they're above it all, but they're absolutely not. It isn't the misbehavior that is obnoxious per se - it's the holier than thou attitude about it, and then doing the same kinds of stuff.

And as you said, a couple of the most horrific scandals involving colleges have come out of that conference.

no championships and continuously losing to Michigan is the antonym of very good by tOSU standards
They made the playoff last year and have a chance to do it again this season. Losing 3 in a row to Michigan would suck for them but Day has won 11 games back-to-back. tOSU Brought Tressel in after getting rid of John Cooper in 1999. That turned out to be a great decision. Urbs followed Tressell and now they have Day. Honestly, the head coaching hires for tOSU over the last two decades are arguably the best in CFB during that span. I just don't see a scenario where they fire him with the amount of wins he has accumulated since 2019.

Conspiracy me wants to think that if the Big 10 hasn’t done anything by the time OSU and Michigan plays, the officiating might be biased towards OSU to try to avoid the cluster bunch of Michigan wins out.
I’ve thought about that as well. If Michigan wins, the clamor is going to go into chaos mode and I’m here for it.

Does anyone else think this ends with a big nothing burger? I would be willing to bet that Michigan will be allowed to play for the B10 title if they make it and the playoffs. I bet the school gets very little punishment.
