Migration Nightmares Hitting Europe

And yet many kept separate and lived in a bubble of their own kind.
Those bubbles still took on American aspects, the majority still learned english, adapted American customs. yeah some grossvater or nonna didn't learn much english, but most of them did.

and unless you are going to point to mass latino amish communities popping up somewhere I don't think the comparison holds nearly as well as you think it does.

no one coming before 2020 was getting continual handouts from the taxpayers. none of them were having their crimes overlooked, or given housing.

its not that anyone/most people want immigration to stop. at worst most people only want ILLEGAL immigration to stop; and at least for the government to actually screen the people coming in. if the crime and gang activity directly related to immigration wasn't on the rise, most people wouldn't care. but that's the problem with an open immigration policy, if we are letting everyone in, there is no way to control what happens and that leads to more negatives being associated with immigration than there should be.

The handouts and crime and all that don't matter to the question of assimilation other than the handouts tend to speed the process a little.
Yes most people did learn English, as they do today. Plenty didn't though, as they don't today. The point is that we're about as assimilated now as we have been in the last 150 years.
Nobody said most people want imigration to stop. I don't; I just want Congress to do their job and reform our immigration laws.

Fury in Sweden at Video Of Syrian Asylum Seeker Pushing A 91-Year-Old Widow Down Stairs before Violently Mugging Her as she visits husband's grave

A Syrian asylum seeker is set to be deported from Sweden after a shocking video showed him pushing a 91-year-old woman down a flight of stairs in an attack that is set to reignite the country's debate over migration.

Karam Kanjo, 26, was caught on CCTV assaulting the elderly victim as she made her way to her husband's grave on August 29 this year.

Footage showed Kanjo - who entered Sweden during Europe's migrant crisis in 2015 and was on parole after raping another woman - grabbing his elderly victim on a flight of stairs in Sollentuna station, eight miles northwest of Stockholm.
