Mike Matthews to portal? [He’s staying]

Which guys are not open?
It was all season long that wide open receivers were missed. I remember one specific play in the stadium this year that Squirrel was wide open on a post route for a TD and Nico dumps it into the flat and the very next play Sampson fumbles for a TD. I hope Nico grows into the QB we all want him to be but in this league you cannot miss opportunities for big plays.

Then tell us why it took so long to get Jamal Lewis on the field under Fulmer. Everyone knew and could see he was a stud. Only after getting shellacked by FLA yet again, did Fulmer relent and finally put him on the field. Surprise!….he ran over everyone. Josh Dobbs was said to be not great in practice, but we saw what happened when he got on the field, he was a flat out gamer. Accept the fact that coaches can be wrong, otherwise they wouldn’t be getting fired all the time.
You must only follow UT if it happens out in the open, Jamal said in an interview that his practice habits sucked and his efforts in the weightroom and film room sucked until Citcliff told him he would never get on the field.
Cutcliff told him not to participate in practice the following day and only watch #16. He said it was at that point that he knew he was a slacker. He asked Peyton after what he needed to do, he said Peytons reply was to hand him 5 or 6 pieces of paper and said if you are gonna run the ball, then you also have to protect me.
When he did all that is when he got to play.

Accept the fact that ayers don't prepare and therefore they don't get to play. Not like your HS team where talent is enough to get on the field.

Yeah, that is crazy but whatever helps you sleep tonight. Lets see if Heupel "finds way to win" next season with this roster of undeveloped players.
I sleep just fine. Two wins over Bama and Florida. A #1 ranking and a playoff appearance recently. But don’t be disappointed when those that hit the portal don’t pan out at lesser schools. Again MM and his 7 catches for 90 yards would be the only loss but even that’s debatable at this time. I don’t let 18-23 year olds dictate my sleep habits, you shouldn’t either you’ll be better rested.

Losing a player here and there in the portal is one thing. But it seems to me that when you as a coach are put in a position to have to replace an ENTIRE POSITION GROUP, something is not right in your program! I could understand if this was Huepel's first year and he was cleaning house. But this is coming up year 5 and this is the second year in a row CJH has had to do this! You can't tell me this isn't alarming and something we shouldn't be concerned over! I refuse to fiddle!

Why are you arguing in what ifs? We are an entire off season from next year and you already know we are going to lose.

What’s the point of being a fan then?

Yeah, and it's discouraging how fast this crisis at WR developed. Tennessee had a Biletnikoff Award winner at WR just 2 years ago, and it was a player who came out of HS as a 3 star. This is awful. He was guaranteed to start next season. There is nothing we can get from the portal that will compensate for this. We're in trouble.

Duck these kids. I'm not renewing my season tickets bc I'm not paying these brats. I don't care as much as I used to bc of this nonsense. Scholarships were a huge thing to get. Nil, super conferences, stupid ass decisions for the playoffs. I don't watch the NFL ever. Ncaa is just nfl with brats.

To be fair, the NFL is also the NFL with brats.

What does the actual film show? Stills mean nothing. Cherry picked and misleading. One of those DBs could be crashing the route in less than a second an it takes about 1.5 to 2 seconds to even throw it.

Grow up and stop being misleading
They are open man, not sure how him posting proof of that makes it worth you telling someone to grow up. Do you understand timing on routes?

Also, show me a DB that can close a 10 yard gap in less than a second, that's an absolute silly take.

You know what's not a ridiculous take? OSU needed an OC and they went out and hired former Oregon and NFL head coach Chip Kelly. We needed an OC and promoted a guy from within who never was an OC in his life. Thats the difference between us and them.
Chip Kelly was about to be fired from UCLA. They didn’t go poach him out of his contract because he was successful.

Even more ridiculous take. OSU has the most expensive college roster to ever take the field. Think their OC had anything to do with that?

If Chip Kelly was so successful in the NFL why is he a college OC? Such a great coach at UCLA that he got canned. His NFL winning % is under .500
