Military badges, coins, insignia, etc....

Someone give this buzz boy a bit of history on this badge. How is it earned, what the wreath and stars signify? I'm ignorant, I admit.

"Combat Infantrymans' Badge", earned as one would expect. Without the wreath, it's earned by passing a course, called an E.I.B. or Expert Infantrymans' Badge, no bad guys required. Each star would be for a different conflict, i.e. WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc. If you were awarded in two wars, you'd have one with one star, for example.

Thanks. I've seen it before, but just never knew.

A SALUTE to you YANKEE and all others that have earned it. Impressive!

Question on the CIB though. Do they consider OIF and OEF two separate conflicts or are they lumped together under the GWOT?

I don't have an answer for you but CIBs were awarded for the invasion of Panama but no star for the gulf war.

Here is my collection getting dusty on the back of my dresser:

CSM Ashe was our division and CJTF CSM in Afghanistan with me, a good man and we often shared meals together (see Yank, not all O's are snobs)

Finally, one of my own coins...I have an engraved one somewhere, but most likely with my old uniforms so I have it when I need it.

Just 23 years, but in Intel you support a lot of units so I got to travel a lot.

I noticed that G2. I bet you got a lot of stories in there somewhere. Bad thing is, you could tell us, but then you'd have to kill us. Literally!:)
