At least 54 US-bound migrants died when the container truck they were in crashed in Mexico - with one official blaming the speed of the vehicle and the weight of its human cargo for the tragedy.

Dozens of bodies arranged in rows covered in white sheets were photographed laid across a roadway in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas On Thursday. At least 54 further people were wounded, 21 seriously, in the horror smash.

As many as 200 migrants were packed in a cargo truck used to transport perishable goods that rolled over and crashed into a pedestrian bridge over a highway, causing dozens of deaths and serious injuries.

The trailer broke open and spilled out migrants when the truck crashed on a sharp curve outside the city of Tuxtla Gutierrez in the state of Chiapas, according to video footage of the aftermath and civil protection authorities.

The deceased were believed to be Central American migrants, some from Guatemala and Honduras, who were packed in a cargo truck

VIDEO: California Landscaper Charged with Raping Six Women

A landscaper was arrested in connection with the rape and sexual assault of six women, and officials in Riverside County said there may be additional victims.

Thirty-six-year-old Jose Manuel Martinez Garcia was taken into custody October 5 and charged Friday with 14 felonies, CBS Los Angeles reported.

Those charges included forcible rape, attempted murder, kidnapping, and additional sex-related counts.

The attacks included three victims being strangled to unconsciousness and two incidents in which the victim was struck by the defendant’s pickup. In one of those, the victim sustained a broken leg. She was left injured in a ditch in Thermal for a several days before being found and given medical assistance. Garcia is a Mexican National who was living in Coachella. He previously lived in the Bakersfield area.​

Two Dead After Alleged Human Smuggler Leads Texas Police on Chase near Border

Two people died in a crash as an alleged human smuggler led law enforcement officials on a high-speed pursuit. The driver, a U.S. citizen, reportedly ran a stop sign and broadsided a vehicle not involved in the pursuit.

A gray Ford Explorer reportedly loaded with six migrants failed to yield to Border Patrol agents and led agents and the Texas Department of Public Safety in a pursuit, according to a report from KRGV.com.

During the pursuit, the driver, later identified by MyRGV.com as 18-year-old Esteban Cantu, ran a stop sign and broadsided a vehicle traveling on another road, Border Patrol union officials reported.

MyRGV.com reports the crash left two people dead and multiple others injured. Mission police told the local news outlet that multiple people were transported to a hospital.

Cantu is under arrest and police say he is charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, a felony, and human smuggling.

Elsewhere in the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector, a migrant died after the driver of a gray F-150 pickup truck fled from Border Patrol agents in Starr County, Texas, according to a statement issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Chip Roy Blasts fellow House Republicans over Weak Support for Trump immigration policies

Rep. Chip Roy is circulating a letter among his Republican colleagues trying to garner support for forcing a House vote to reinstate certain Trump-era immigration policies, the Washington Examiner has learned.

In a letter to his fellow Republicans, the Texas lawmaker said the conference “should stand together to thwart the Biden administration’s attack on our southern border” by forcing votes on a bill that would require enforcement of Title 42, an emergency public health order allowing officials to turn away migrants at the borders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Roy is also pushing for support on a bill that would reinstate the Trump-era Migrant Protection Protocols, which requires some migrants to stay in Mexico while awaiting the resolution of their asylum cases in the United States.

Saudi man, 21, was photographed wearing 'Central Oneida County Volunteer' jacket

A "potential terrorist" with links to a number of "Yemeni subjects of interest" was captured in Arizona late last week after illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. Border Patrol officials announced Monday.

The 21-year-old man was apprehended Thursday night entering the U.S. from Mexico through Yuma, Arizona, according to a tweet from Yuma Sector Chief Patrol Agent Chris T. Clem. He appears to have been wearing a jacket emblazoned with an American flag patch and another that stated: "Central Oneida County Volunteer."

The man is allegedly from Saudi Arabia and "is linked to several Yemeni subjects of interest."

Pregnant Haitian Migrant Goes into Labor in Mexico After Failing to Rush Texas Border

A pregnant Haitian migrant who was trying to force her way into the U.S. failed and went into labor on the Mexican side of the border this week.

The case took place in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, where a 25-year-old Haitian woman and five other individuals tried to enter the U.S. to claim asylum. Mexican authorities at the International Bridge #2 stopped the group and were in the process of moving them when the woman went into labor.

The incident comes days after approximately 300 migrants tried to rush one of ports of entry connecting Piedras Negras with Eagle Pass. That failed rush forced authorities to stop all international traffic for an hour.

Radical Pro-Migration Advocate Esther Olavarria Exits White House

White House migration chief Esther Olavarria, a long-standing advocate of more migration and more amnesty, is quitting, marking a win for President Joe Biden’s network of East Coast advisors.

“This is going to be a real loss,” tweeted Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, a pro-migration advocate at the pro-migration American Immigration Council.

Olavarria served as the deputy immigration official in Biden’s Domestic Policy Council. But Biden’s poll ratings were crushed by his migration deputies’ refusal to guard the border from poor migrants.

White House officials earlier announced the exit of Tyler Moran, who formerly worked for pro-amnesty billionaire Laurene Powell Jobs.
