I think this guy is going to get some serious looks and consideration from several NFL scouts and teams. Yeah I know he’s got some weaknesses, as does everyone, but He’s got the size, a lot of the intangibles, arm strength, great character and poised leadership. Pretty even keel guy if you ask me.

I’m not saying he’s the next Patrick Mahomes, but I can see him starting out as a serviceable backup and playing his way into a starting position with the right system, situation, and coach. You look around the NFL today and gotta think Joe could hold his own with at least all of the backups and even some of the starters out there. I mean Purdy and Levis weren’t exactly lighting it up in college but look how their game has translated to the NFL.

Someone will give him go. He has arm talent for sure. You have his Orange Bowl performance and some clean up games.
The coaching staff hasn't done him any favors earlier in the season this year though. He played well in Bama the 1st half and the staff just did a 180 for the second half but last night they coached to his strengths the whole game and he played good. Also in the NFL the WR go and make plays. Watched DHop today catch a ball Levis threw behind him and still scored a TD.
He'll most likely sit a few years behind a QB then get his shot.

He practically has been Anthony Richardson, so likely drafted.
He’s not near the dynamic athlete as Richardson is, and also doesn’t make nearly as many off platform throws. I’m not dissing Joe I’ve been one of his biggest supporters, I just see this comparison often and don’t think it’s a good one. Just big armed SEC QBs

If only we could have had you coaching him earlier in the season

I think he will get drafted and will get to translate that big arm into some money.

As to his prospects, IMHO Joe likes to work through his decisions one careful step at a time and be sure a guy is open before he lets go. I think the NFL game will prove to be too fast for him. Also, I think the DB talent and coverages in the NFL will make it much harder to know in advance what to expect, compounding the challenge.

Joe is a great guy, a great teammate, and a VFL. I would love to see him make it big in the NFL. But, I’m going to enjoy his work as a good college QB and limit my expectations for his pro career.

Have you seen Kenny Pickett? 😄

Only 5 Tds in the first 7 games. 4 Int.

Ranks 30th in QBR. Only Tannehill and Young are worse.

If Kenny is better, it ain't by much
Pickett is a starting QB for a storied franchise. After losing today and Pickett getting hurt, Pitt is still 4-3 in the AFC North, which is probably the toughest division in the NFL. I get that you're clueless about the NFL as you ignorantly post stats obtained from the best against the best. Thanks for making it easy

He will get drafted because of his arm. There will be a coach out there that thinks they can fix the mental part.
Good grief but I get the sense that some VN folks actually think Joe Milton the second coming of JG. Joe is not Hendon Hooker but he also isn’t some mental basket case that needs „fixing“. He has provided steady performance and is 8 and 2 as a starter since taking over after USC last fall. Just a few seasons ago, most Vol fans would have given their right arms to have a qb with that kind of record. Hendon just spoiled us IMO

I never said he was a basket case. I said mental as he can’t process and think through progressions. If you think he is then why is a senior and still not allowed to throw down the field. He struggles with reading defenses and processing what to do.
