Milton in the NFL

I think this guy is going to get some serious looks and consideration from several NFL scouts and teams. Yeah I know he’s got some weaknesses, as does everyone, but He’s got the size, a lot of the intangibles, arm strength, great character and poised leadership. Pretty even keel guy if you ask me.

I’m not saying he’s the next Patrick Mahomes, but I can see him starting out as a serviceable backup and playing his way into a starting position with the right system, situation, and coach. You look around the NFL today and gotta think Joe could hold his own with at least all of the backups and even some of the starters out there. I mean Purdy and Levis weren’t exactly lighting it up in college but look how their game has translated to the NFL.
Purdy actually balled out in college: started nine games as a true freshman and won seven, was three-time All-Big-12, led the conference twice in passing yards. So not your best example.

He’s got a chance to play himself into being a high draft pick but he’s not there yet. Right now I see him as a 5th-7th round draft pick. Probably a practice squad guy to start with

If he's lucky, works real hard, says his prayers every day, takes his vitamins, and keeps his nose clean from bad influences he has a shot at being an assistant coach in the NFL some day. Who knows he may take to that and be a winning head coach there as well.
He will struggle with the speed of the game but that isn’t measured at the combine and said week in Indy is what will get him drafted. If you think Nate Peterman can make a roster and Milton won’t you obviously never watched Mighty Nate play.

Milton will definetly get drafted, what happens after will happen. Wish him luck . After having so much success with Hooker I have to realize that we are not as good as last by far. If we can beat Mizzou 9-3 don’t look too bad. Hats off to coaching staff . Apologize for all negative comments , and Peace to all.

I would love to see my Atlanta Falcons draft Milton because Ridder is a walking turnover machine.

I have to say Joe is getting better every game . I did not think he could do because of his football career to date . IMO he will get drafted and as long as he goes to a good QB coached team he will be a better pro than college QB well maybe . I am eating some crow this year because I did not think he could play as well as he is which is not Hooker level but way better than he has played so far in college .

He will get drafted, but I don't think it will ultimately pan out well for him.

I think he will be able to hit sideline passes and some timing routes well and will have some good receivers to catch 50/50 balls. But he us not pin point accurate enough to have consistent success at the next level. I also think, while he has a quick release motion, he is a slow decision maker and that will ultimately doom him in the NFL.

He will get drafted because of his arm. There will be a coach out there that thinks they can fix the mental part.
I never said he was a basket case. I said mental as he can’t process and think through progressions. If you think he is then why is a senior and still not allowed to throw down the field. He struggles with reading defenses and processing what to do.
Did the Coaches get mad at him when he hit Nimrod the other night for that TD?

Oh my God don’t get me started on Ridder. Prime example of why you don’t draft inaccurate guys who put up good numbers in c-USA or AAC or whatever to be your franchise qb. Would take Milton in a heartbeat. Pitts and Mack hollins have gotten behind defenses all year and Ridder can’t get the ball that far without giving it to the other team smh.

People talk out their ass way too much on here. Most of our sacks allowed happened on long developing plays but that must have nothing to do with the play calling lol. Receivers getting jammed at the line or not getting separation quick enough on those plays don’t help either. It’s just Joe.

No Levis lover but today he balled out in TN for the Titans. 4 TD's.
I'm for now in the play him the rest of the season and send Tannehill packing if possible, only down side is that leaves Malik as the only backup
We gotta remember. Mariota did the exact same thing. I'm with you, but cautiously

Same. Plus he’s already hurt from preseason stuff.
He played good today and he’s looked better than Malik. He probably wasn’t gamed for by ATL other than basic stuff. Doesn’t hurt having a WR like DHop that makes plays.
I think Tannehill is gone regardless. Play Levis and see what you got.

I thought we we were going to have a decent discussion, but you start with the insults for absolutely no reason.

I watch Pitt every week. I've seen every one of his games. He struggles for most of the game every week. Throws into tight coverage way too much. The one thing he's doing well is 4th Qtr play. He sometimes finds some kind of magic late. He's definetly not the long term answer. If you don't think QBR means something, then stick to Basketball
I know QBR is important. I know Pickett is struggling. Imagine the struggle Joe would have if he's lucky enough to get PT in the NFL. Most posters here don't understand how hard the NFL is nor do they grasp how good the players are, leading to posters claiming "Dobbs can still be a star". Hooker will likely be a backup.

Milton has the tools. Look at Will Levis yesterday and AR w colts. Both surprised me with where they were drafted and playing much better than I expected…so I’d say there’s hope.

Honestly, he’d probably kill it at the Combine given the controlled nature, and some team will likely be mesmerized by his “potential.” They would be foolish, IMO. The guy has thrown for over 300 yards in a game only twice in his college career back in 2020.

If he gets drafted, it will be late. And he could very well be a UFA.

Exactly. The NFL is light years away from college. If a player struggles with reads in college (like Joe), it is much harder in the pros.

The windows are tighter and they close that much quicker.

That's where his strong arm would help. I could see him getting drafted by Chicago or Pittsburgh or the Jets or Giants or packers.

AR was playing good until he got hurt. At the time I thought he was playing better than the Young and Stroud.
