Milton in the NFL

Huepel can't run his offense with Joe as his QB. If he can go to a team where he doesn't have to do anything but hand the ball off to someone like Derrick Henry, he should be alright

I’ve said it from the beginning and even through the worst joe moments that he will be on an nfl roster when his college career is over.

Pickett is a starting QB for a storied franchise. After losing today and Pickett getting hurt, Pitt is still 4-3 in the AFC North, which is probably the toughest division in the NFL. I get that you're clueless about the NFL as you ignorantly post stats obtained from the best against the best. Thanks for making it easy

I thought we we were going to have a decent discussion, but you start with the insults for absolutely no reason.

I watch Pitt every week. I've seen every one of his games. He struggles for most of the game every week. Throws into tight coverage way too much. The one thing he's doing well is 4th Qtr play. He sometimes finds some kind of magic late. He's definetly not the long term answer. If you don't think QBR means something, then stick to Basketball

I see him as this year's Anthony Richardson. No, I don't expect him to go first round... just that he has all the physical tools and will wow people at the combine.

Anthony Richardson was not all that impressive to me nor Levis.

Joe is definitely an NFL prospect. Those perimeter throws to WR screens are only as productive as they are because Milton can throw accurately to the sideline too fast for defenders to make a play. That throw alone is super important to NFL offenses and is a big separator between who can and who can’t be a QB in the NFL.

I think he will get drafted and will get to translate that big arm into some money.

As to his prospects, IMHO Joe likes to work through his decisions one careful step at a time and be sure a guy is open before he lets go. I think the NFL game will prove to be too fast for him. Also, I think the DB talent and coverages in the NFL will make it much harder to know in advance what to expect, compounding the challenge.

Joe is a great guy, a great teammate, and a VFL. I would love to see him make it big in the NFL. But, I’m going to enjoy his work as a good college QB and limit my expectations for his pro career.

He will likely get early round consideration with his crazy arm strength and overall athletic ability. I know it is a deep draft at QB and he's 24, but his raw talent is off the charts.

Ridiculous

I don't think he'll be that bad but in a sense they are right. He'll get some looks for his natural abilities. But he's still struggling 6 years into his college career on some things that should be second nature by now. And the NFL will be much faster.

Obviously you never know with the NFL.

If Will Levis and Anthony Richardson can get drafted on potential alone, so can Joe. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him go round 1 or 2 if he finishes the season like he’s played the last two games.

I posted this in the game thread too- but I think with NFL receivers that can catch his rocket throws and the ones that are a step behind, ahead, etc etc …. He will be an excellent NFL qb. He is big, tall, athletic, and that bazooka arm… I think NFL scouts will drool all over that - he can put enough on balls to make throws - that, while considered uncatchable around here- can be deadly in the NFL. Can he master complexities of those offenses? Sure will be interesting to see- my money says no later than round two.

I didn't get the hype around either, especially Levis. But Richardson at least is a guy that had the physical tools, hence my comparison to Milton.
No Levis lover but today he balled out in TN for the Titans. 4 TD's.
I'm for now in the play him the rest of the season and send Tannehill packing if possible, only down side is that leaves Malik as the only backup

I think this guy is going to get some serious looks and consideration from several NFL scouts and teams. Yeah I know he’s got some weaknesses, as does everyone, but He’s got the size, a lot of the intangibles, arm strength, great character and poised leadership. Pretty even keel guy if you ask me.

I’m not saying he’s the next Patrick Mahomes, but I can see him starting out as a serviceable backup and playing his way into a starting position with the right system, situation, and coach. You look around the NFL today and gotta think Joe could hold his own with at least all of the backups and even some of the starters out there. I mean Purdy and Levis weren’t exactly lighting it up in college but look how their game has translated to the NFL.

If he's lucky, works real hard, says his prayers every day, takes his vitamins, and keeps his nose clean from bad influences he has a shot at being an assistant coach in the NFL some day. Who knows he may take to that and be a winning head coach there as well.

Honestly, he’d probably kill it at the Combine given the controlled nature, and some team will likely be mesmerized by his “potential.” They would be foolish, IMO. The guy has thrown for over 300 yards in a game only twice in his college career back in 2020.

Blah blah blah "Jalen Hurts will never make it in the NFL". Dobbs won't get drafted". Penix can't throw". STFU all that biased geriatric bs is over.
