Milton in the NFL

When Nico doesn't light it up next season you will all understand. It is not all the QB. We do NOT have the elite play makers we had last year. Hell, HH numbers would not be what they were without Hyatt, McCoy, Tillman and an NFL 1st rd Tackle. That is a LOT of talent to replace. Squirrel is the only proven WR we have. The talent doesn't match last years team. JOE has made some mistakes but he has gotten better. I know he is a 6th year guy but in reality he hasn't played alot of football in his 6 years. He has the talent, but live action is how you truly grow. 8-4 to 9-3 is about what most expected and we are on pace for that. Continuing to trash the guy just makes you look bad. Enjoy the season, not much time left.
Dude - this isn’t a Nico thing. The post is about Milton getting drafted. Go look at any draft experts board and tell me how many have him at the top because his receivers aren’t as good. I said the kid will get drafted because of his arm but he needs work on the mental part to play in the nfl. You are so busy trying to put me down that you are way off from what the thread is about.

A switch flipped for joe during the second half tho the TAMU game and he has continued to improve each game Even Bama I say CJH was a little too conservative that game 2nd half… he is not great but he has been playing good for us since that time and he has noticeably ran more and harder since that time… he actually was hitting guys on a rope while scrambling Vs UK… I know a lot on here hate him but I’m glad for joe and hope he continues his good play for the rest of the season.

C-USA is okay. Daunte Culpepper, Chad Pennington, Byron Leftwich, Brett Favre
And this gets back to the heart of the thread topic. Can we look at all of the starting qbs in the nfl (past and current) and determine a definitive predictive success based on any college analytics (stats, conference, physical talent, championships). I don’t think we can. This is why NFL scouts get paid the big bucks, but they OFTEN swing and miss too. I would think the SEC level of competition would give sec qbs the upper-hand, but nfl is not majority sec starting qbs.

How many first round qb busts? How many later round qb super bowls? If a team can draft a mid to later round qb that can actually start, that instantly gives them an advantage in cap room and more flexibility to pay big bucks for other skill positions. I don’t think Milton is high risk/high reward bc you’re not gonna be paying much for him or drafting too high for him. He is what he is. I do think he has just as much potential for success as most other qbs in this years draft.

He will get drafted but whenever he gets his opportunity he needs to do everything right.
NFL teams/coaches are done with “development” of QBs.. for example Green Bay tried the LOVE experience it’s disastrous. Titans Will Levi’s shined in his opportunity and now talks are trading Tannehill.

I will say, he’s got the talent to “stay in the league” so starter or backup he will be in NFL awhile

He will get drafted because of his arm. There will be a coach out there that thinks they can fix the mental part.

NFL completely different set of players and system.
Brent Farve says hello...

NFL is starving for QBs.

His ability to stretch the field with that arm is rare.

Milton will get drafted for sure but I think as a second day pick.

Gotta get a lot better throwing off schedule under pressure and adjusting his arm angles along with reading the defense and making quicker decisions.

He will get dinged for coming from Heupels offense just because that's still a thing for some of these teams. These NFL teams recycle these jurassic coaches worse than any other league IMO.

Somebody drafted Malik Willis, Milton is definitely going somewhere. Levis looked all pro last week
Successful Sec qbs all deserve to be drafted

If you had to pick between Joe or Caleb, who would you pick today. First round had to start week one, not backup
Milton is my clear choice

I don’t think he gets drafted. UFA is probably more likely.

He isn’t a NFL QB though. Not accurate on crossing patterns or over the middle. Will be sacked into oblivion trying to read a nfl defense.

Even if he's drafted as a situation qb he will be. 3rd string that can come in for a last second deep shot anywhere on the field is a good back pocket weapon.

You not familiar with the nfl draft huh? Anthony Richardson went 6-6 and still went top 5 … Milton probably has the strongest arm on earth can make every throw and will win 8-10 games in the sec… he will for sure get drafted…

I’ve said the same thing last year. If AR is a top pick, then Milton is a day 2 guy. However, he has plenty of film on him and still making the same mistakes. Reads the field too slow. Passes over the middle aren’t accurate. Can’t make the tight window throws in the red zone.

Joe Milton reminds me of Josh Freeman. Big, tall, strong armed QB, with all the physical ability in the world and strong leadership qualities. But for some reason, just cant put it all together on the field.
