So you don't think a better course of action for the black community would be to educate white youth on the hurtfulness of the word? Better to ruin some young person's life who doesn't fully understand the weight of the word she's using, a word she has heard black artists use commonly in their music? Like I said, everyone says they want a better world, few want to put in the work for it.
And my POV is no one should use the word. Don't make it about race. No one should use the word. White, black, yellow, red, purple, polka dot...no one should use the word. It's a simple concept.
I'm curious where the empathy and consideration were for this young girl, because they seemed to be lacking IMO. And conversation was non-existent. Someone decide to "take revenge" for a perceived slight, never directed at him. A university decided to take action and pull her scholarship and encourage her not to enroll. Who actually talked to her? Who had a conversation to hear her contrition? Maybe you should try a little empathy that something she said at 15, to a friend, not in a hateful manner, has effected her life so drastically.
