Mimi Groves/UT revoked admission

Desperation time. Calling out my sentence structure. Perhaps there are more drugs you can recommend. I think you have already suggested Zoloft, MJ, and Xanax. Sounds like you have needed much assistance in your life.
I've never used anything you mentioned except MJ. I did suggest Zoloft and Lithium to you because you have psychological issues that may indicate a chemical imbalance in your body. It's ok. It's nothing to be ashamed about. Watch the fukking game. Vols are balling. Relax

Well the n word isn’t in the same category with the others. I can understand the outrage. I think black people and their kids know exactly what it means and the history.

I see people calling black people reverse racist every single day on Fox News and on this board. Especially on Tucker’s show.

You are saying if white people can’t use it, neither should black people. That is absolutely saying something should be one way.

Black people shouldn‘t hate white people or vice versa. It’s not justified. There are underlying tensions between the races however. Look at this thread. Some idiot called me a tar baby because I hurt their feelings.

As I said initially, it’s a complicated issue and I think the answer is empathy, consideration, and conversation.
So you don't think a better course of action for the black community would be to educate white youth on the hurtfulness of the word? Better to ruin some young person's life who doesn't fully understand the weight of the word she's using, a word she has heard black artists use commonly in their music? Like I said, everyone says they want a better world, few want to put in the work for it.

And my POV is no one should use the word. Don't make it about race. No one should use the word. White, black, yellow, red, purple, polka dot...no one should use the word. It's a simple concept.

I'm curious where the empathy and consideration were for this young girl, because they seemed to be lacking IMO. And conversation was non-existent. Someone decide to "take revenge" for a perceived slight, never directed at him. A university decided to take action and pull her scholarship and encourage her not to enroll. Who actually talked to her? Who had a conversation to hear her contrition? Maybe you should try a little empathy that something she said at 15, to a friend, not in a hateful manner, has effected her life so drastically.

Funny coming you. Psychological issues? Anyone supports a communist, (especially someone who claims to be a vet) has mental problems.

The school has the mental maturity of a 10yr old. Tennessee sucks

Nice an actual attempt at civil convo!

I think it’s incredibly complicated. We cannot ban the word and I absolutely understand the sensitivity to it. There seem to be other words, like the b word, that people have changed the meaning and it’s now a term of their community. I just look at it as not my place to determine and I try to refrain from passing judgment on those who do.

Define their community.....

I see, a medical doctor prescribing and diagnosing via text. You are quite delusional. I'm not tense.

I think it’s cool that they took the power away and use it as a term of community. I also think it’s a great teaching tool for everyone. Racism and slavery have never fully been dealt with in this country. Stuff like this keeps the conversation going and we just do not have the individual power to eliminate a word.

Did a black person from UT deny the girl? I think we all agree she did not get a fair shake. The outrage has been incredible. The other guy was a kid too and doesn’t get near the empathy. I’ve heard him being called all kinds of names. A ton of which are racist. As you said earlier, it has to go both ways. We have a long way to go in this country.

Good grief. The girl made an off the cuff remark at 15 directed at no one. He held onto something for years and chose to use to inflict the maximum amount of damage on a person. They arent comparable.

Who said they were. You’re proving my point to the complete lack of empathy to him however.

The other "kid" held onto a video clip for years and purposely used it to hurt someone else. That's a dickhead move. Wasn't even a clip meant for him, or directed at him. He was not wronged. Yet he decided to purposely hurt someone else, then act like he had done something noble. That's just BS.

I've made my points. Feel free to disagree, but if this society truly wants unity, both sides have to be willing to compromise and work toward a common goal.

He gets none because he deserves none. Has he apologized? Has he stated he should have never done this?

Do you know that he didn’t?

He is a dumb kid in the internet age. He absolutely deserves more empathy than he’s recievied.

I just appreciate the attempt at civil discord. Didn’t think it was possible here for a second.
