Missing Malaysia Airlines Jet

I'd wager a paycheck that this plane is at the bottom of the ocean.

I wouldn't bet against you on that.

But specifically, where was the plane heading? That's the important piece of the puzzle needed here.

I'm late to the conversation due to being on vacation, but what's the scoop on this? I've read on CNN some of the theories. One question I have is, if it were blown up in mid-air, there would have to be some sign of a debris field right? Not sure such a weapon exists that can completely turn that large of an object into mere atoms that were unidentifiable.

Poor excuse Aggie. Vacation, pshaw!

Problem isn't if it blew up and no debris, it's they have zero clue of where to look for said debris.

Photon torpedoes would do the trick.

These kinds of events serve as a reminder to me that no matter how well connected we all believe we are with the world and the happenings around it, the ocean is a vast area, much of which is unexplored.

Kinda like that Mexican that claims he was on a boat that drifted damn near to Japan a month or so ago. He went undetected for 13 months. Just amazes me.

Wait...are you saying the Mexicans are involved in this now?

Paraphrasing but conspiracies are for those who cannot face the fact that there is a lot of random in the world.

Figured it out

Have authorities considered this?

At this point I'm going with:

95 % Payne Stewart scenario

5 % Combined total for landed and everyone kidnapped, everyone killed to steal plane for later use as a bomb, aliens, suicide by pilot, everything else

The pilots (airline) I've spoken with have poopooed the Payne Stewart theory.

Rule that one out. So anything else is possible.

Even with the fact the transponders were shut off manually and at different times?

Why? More importantly, when did you speak to him? Curious as to his knowledge base at the time on that.

From what I hear the only thing that would really contradict that is the claim that the transponders were intentionally turned off, which is itself an inference based on them going off at different times.

The odds that the transponders stopped at different times due to electrical or failures due to structural problems I gather is low. But compared to landing on an abandoned airstrip with no one knowing it I'm going with the tech angle for now.

How do you know manually?

Because every talking head, expert, airline pilot and government inspector says the same thing. There is no way for them all to fail and to do so systematically. The only possible explanation is that they were shut off intentionally.

I've heard that, but I've also heard that they can shut off if power goes off. Then I've heard its possible for them to go off on their own, but unlikely.

You use the word "systematically" in terms of them going out. I am not sure I've heard how far apart it was. I'm not even sure that has been anything than unconfirmed report 4,823 in this whole thing.
