Missionaries, your thoughts?

John Locke believed that all knowledge is attained through experience. One can not experience God without faith in him.
I understand that not every one will come to that faith and even rail against it as it is something they do not understand, or choose not to accept. That is up to them.

He utilizes the power of logic and the ability to reason as afforded by the human brain to discern issues arising from various metaphysical beliefs. I've been a habitual lurker for many years. He seemingly meets all metaphysical beliefs with the same logical faculty. However, there are many more Christians on this board than "other religions" thus a greater chance of engaging Christians and their beliefs. He is not the boogieman, he is not out to get you.

See this is what makes people like you ignorant. Have I ever said I go to church? Have I ever said I believe in Christ? See along with him you assume a lot of things. I also can come into an argument with an open mind and no predetermined notions just like you.

Again he says himself that he does every religion the same, but I have never seen him speak a bad word about any other religion.

Also if I thought he was the boogieman I would call the ghost buster. I can see them so they must be real.

I see reading comprehension is not your strong suit so I shall try again.

Reread my post. I never addressed your metaphysical beliefs nor your potential practices of them. I assumed nothing but what you had said about his "anger" and his "attacking" of Christianity. Secondly, I would suggest you pay more attention to his posts. He logically critiques many metaphysical principals. The fact that you and others fail to see that does not mean that they don't exist. Again, there are many more Christians on this board than "other religions" thus a greater chance of engaging Christians and their beliefs. However, it does not follow that critiques of other metaphysical principals are necessarily missing. Finally, my comment "He is not the boogieman, he is not out to get you" was not meant towards you (volinreallife) at all. "You" was meant to mean "you personally." To many people get offended and take his objections personally. His objections are for the argument at hand not the person.

I never understand the anger coming from you when you get on your "mythical jesus" kick.

I can understand disagreeing but so much disdain just makes me wonder.

Where was the anger? If you want to read anger into that post, feel free; just know that it is you reading it into the post.

I really wanna see one of the post where he has attack another religion. When you supply I will admit I was wrong.

I have openly said that I do not believe in the notion of a personal God. This attacks Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Hinduism.

I am not going to search through my posts to figure out exactly what I have said of each religion; however, I know that I have recently said that if one reads and follows any of the major religious texts literally, they would be the worst person I have ever encountered.

If you want though, you can conduct an advanced search of everything I have ever posted on VolNation.. It is available in the public domain.

It's really not that hard to understand. The majority of this board is christian - so they talk christianity - hence his post count commenting on christianity.

Dont think we have had the pleasure of bull crappin since 08. Appeal of Kant?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Appeal started with his Groundwork, a great argument for morality without religion (and, a morality that is, in my opinion, stronger than any morality I have seen professed by any religious system (previous to that, I very much thought the Thomist view of morality was the most firm)).

After that, I began rereading a lot of the philosophical and theological texts I had read up to that time and tried to reconcile pure philosophical views with Christian views; sans immediate, personal revelation, I have come to the conclusion that I cannot and that I must rely on the best faculty I have: reason.

Once I had then been able to step outside of the bounds of my Christian worldview, then I took a very skeptical eye to Christian (and World) History and found that Christianity, in my opinion, has been just as good and just as bad as any other religion and that it could never succeed in being as good as an ideal Kantian society.

Went thru a very similar change of thought for many years.........found a way back to christianity
