MLB Trade Deadline

do the Angels become sellers now? Pujols out "for an extended period of time", possibly the season and they just lost 3 of 4 to my A's and are nowhere close in the WC or West standings...

Don't think so, they have so much money tied up in older players right now that I think they are determined to find some way to win in the near future rather than try to sell for prospects. I do think they will try trading some people in the offseason for more pitching help, but it will be for pitchers that are mlb ready now which no contending would be interested in doing in the middle of a pennant race

They should. Somebody would love to add Trumbo or Bourjos and they could get a good return. They just gave him an extension, but Iannetta has some value.

They also have a bullpen piece or two they can trade.

The A's could really use one more lefty in the bullpen. 2B is a possible place to upgrade, but Sogard is playing out of his mind right now. I'm getting very optimistic.

Feel a trade being announced here soon for the Pirates. Alen Hanson was pulled out of today's game in the 4th inning. His agency claims that it was because he was promoted to AA, but no other roster move has been announced to make room for Hansen, and all of this after the white sox vp of baseball operations had been spotted at the pirates AA affiliate.

OAN: That puts 3 of the top 50 prospects in baseball on the Altoona roster

Weird. Kendrick I kinda get, Aybar just got a contract extension.

True, my only thought is that with such a shortage of SS on the market the angels could probably get a pretty good return on him with multiple contending teams interested in SS help. Particularly the Cardinals who do have some pitching prospects that the Angels need

I guess. Not a big fan of Aybar for his new contract.

Unless Infante is out for the rest of the year, I don't get it for Detroit.

I don't know, we haven't earned the stats guy reputation in the reds thread like you have :)

I'm Hines-esque when it comes to baseball stats. Other sports I understand relies on teamwork much more than baseball.

13 games out and no Pujols? I'd bet they are sellers

Cisnero has been pretty terrible lately but they don't appear to have anyone else so it's most likely his job by default.
