'24 MO DL Williams Nwaneri (Mizzou commit)

Nothing Tennessee could have done was going to change the outcome
Not with Rattler throwing the way he was. He was putting the ball within a dinner plate sized window 40yds downfield. Only way to have stopped him that day was to get lots of pressure very quickly. That was one of the better performances by a QB last year in all of football.

Disagree. The team chemistry was way off that game. The team looked completely different from the very start. I remember my wife even saying it. She said what’s wrong with TN, they don’t look right. Without Jeremy Banks, we win that game easily.

Word I’m hearing is these are pitches for Nwaneri:
OU- Venables track record with the draft, defensive head coach, upfront NIL
Uga- 5 1st round DLs in 2 years (NFL money), defensive head coach, NIL opportunities
UT- Garner’s history of development, upfront NIL

Family likes Garner, but recent draft success is less impressive than venables and uga. They really like the defensive head coach deal. Was told ‘UT’s NIL offer is not on the same tier as OU and Mizzou.’

No shocker here: probably leaning OU currently, but nothing set in stone. Closer to home, good relationships, development.

@TrippieRedd looks like we are reallocating our resources to other priorities

Its hard to argue against OU or UGA when you put it like that tbh, best of luck to him tho except when he plays UT

I hope he chooses mizz lol

Could be mistaken but hasn’t this kid only played ball for a few years??

If so, I’m glad we aren’t paying big for him. You could either get a 1st-2nd round pick or you could get Kongbo. That risk isn’t worth the price, imo.

Drink paying for kids just to pad recruiting rankings for the fans. I bet he dropped a fat bag for Luther Burden, hope that 300 yards was worth six figures

Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri is the top-ranked uncommitted prospect, checking in at No. 3 overall. Georgia is becoming the program to beat. Oklahoma is in the top two, Missouri gave him a good visit this past weekend and Tennessee and Oregon round out the top five with a summer decision becoming more and more likely. Nwaneri took an official to Athens the first weekend of the month and returned this past Sunday which included a sit down with Smart.

Smart has been doing this since he got there. I do not understand why we can’t/won’t.
Smart is a defensive head coach. Even before Georgia he was a nationally well know DC. Easier to recruit defense when you have experience coaching it unlike Heupel. Some defensive players want to play under a defensive minded head coach

But it still sucks. I mean Rodney Garner is among the best DL coaches in the nation. And we have been trending for Nwaneri big time. Then UGA just swoops on and boom. Sweeps us to the side. It’s sucks because Nwaneri is a game changing player in the DL.

When we win back-to-back national championships, we'll be able to swoop in at the very end and sign whomever we want as well. Winning is a great deodorant, even when the underbelly of your program has the stench that Georgia's currently has.
