If he’s looking to make a decision soon then surely it isn’t OU?? There’s probably a 50/50 chance that Venables is coaching them next year. If I were genuinely interested in them I would wait to see what shakes out.
They have an insanely easy schedule this year. They could be bad and still win 9 games. Honestly, I was worried about Venables at first, but the more I hear around here lately, the more I think everyone is just resigned to him not being the guy. Hopefully it takes a few more years because I really want them to be down when we play in ‘24.
This is the lowest level of excitement around the program I’ve felt since I moved out here.
