'24 MO DL Williams Nwaneri (Mizzou commit)

Wiltfong talking about the commitment and barely mentions Tennessee. Hyped up Mizzou and said there’s a new law that if a kid commits to the home state school they can start making NIL money sooner.
That law is stupid. Anyone can say they're committed to any school in Missouri, cash in, and then say screw you and go anywhere they want. Verbal commitments are non-binding for anything.

We need to get a law signed like that lol

It doesn't go into effect when you commit, only when you sign.

Also, the law says the university administers NIL, so no need for a collective, and coaches can be directly involved. We'll see how that goes.

Well, the NLI signing makes more since given that is a binding document. But still, for football, how long of a lead time does that realistically give you to begin earning money from NIL that you wouldn't get otherwise? At most, you sign in December and don't enroll until August (worst case scenario)...9 months. And then what is really restricting you unless you play a winter/spring sport (basketball, wrestling, baseball, track) that the state association can rule you ineligible to participate in? Football is over at that point.

We should go ahead and pay all our Missouri recruits and challenge that nonsense law in court. “You can make money, but only if you go to a school we like”…no way that holds up in court

The law says the athlete has to sign with the state school, not just commit.

Just wondering how Missouri can offer the kind of nil to attract this kind of player? What are the chances they can actually follow through and pay that offer?

I'm sure Missouri can cough up substantial cash.
As for needing immediate cash to help the family getting a loan would not be a problem, if you got a million NIL money coming. That's assuming the family or whatever isn't needing 6 figures.

The **** is going to hit the fan when these kids sign a binding NIL . Two years down the road they want to transfer. What school will take them when they have a deal to do promotions in another state and what will the kid do when they can’t get NIL at new school.
