Mollie Tibbetts: Iowa DOT says murder suspect did not have Iowa driver's license or credentials
The tragic death of Mollie Tibbetts has shocked and stunned Iowa and the nation. News reports have indicated the suspect in Tibbetts’ death presented a state-issued ID card to secure employment, which has generated questions about Iowa law and the Iowa Department of Transportation’s issuance practices. The following is information relevant to those questions:

The Iowa DOT has reviewed our records and confirmed that no Iowa driver's license or credential was issued to Cristhian Bahena Rivera, either under that name or any alternate name bearing his likeness and we have no license history for him. The review included using our facial recognition system to compare his likeness to all images on record to assure he did not obtain an Iowa license or ID under a different or false name. All requests for additional information about the source of the suspect’s credentials should be submitted to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

Iowa law, consistent with the federal REAL ID Act, prohibits us from issuing any type of driver’s license or identification card to a person who is an undocumented immigrant. We are authorized to issue a license or ID to anyone who is considered a temporary foreign national. A temporary foreign national is a person who is lawfully authorized to be present in the U.S., as determined by the United States Customs & Immigration Service and presents documents issued by USCIS that are valid and can be verified electronically through the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security. An undocumented immigrant has no such lawful status and no corresponding documentation and is not eligible for an Iowa license or ID.

Iowa DOT contributes to the E-verify program, through a program called RIDE (Records and Information from DMVs for E-Verify). Under that program, an employer who is presented a driver’s license or ID issued by the state of Iowa as proof of identity and employment authorization may enter the credential information into the E-Verify system. We will return an answer indicating whether the information provided is valid or invalid. However, our participation in the verification process is triggered or implicated only when a person possesses and presents and Iowa-issued credential.

1 murder:

Rep King as of Nov 2006:

Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens. That’s 21,900 since Sept. 11, 2001.

While King reports 12 Americans are murdered daily by illegal aliens, he says 13 are killed by drunk illegal alien drivers – for another annual death toll of 4,745. That’s 23,725 since Sept. 11, 2001
You are not surprisingly reciting bogus data. Typical. Even Steve King admitted it and amended it. Dumb Dotard also recited it after it was debunked.

This poor woman was killed in the middle of nowhere Iowa by an illegal immigrant that required an interpreter at his hearing after living in the US for years. When are you liberals going to wake up and decide that the people pouring over our borders aren't our friends? They're leaving a **** hole and trying to bring the **** hole way of life to America.

Was it horrible? Absolutely. Was it preventable? Absolutely. Is representative of the majority of murders of this type in America? Absolutely not.

We should be putting time and money into border enforcement and repatriating persons within our borders immediately. We should not, however, provide disproportionate coverage or call disproportionate alarm to the other incidents of violence against women in our country. Had the murderer been white there would have been minimal coverage. Just like all the other white on woman crimes that go with minimal or no news coverage.

Death is not a partisan issue. Separate this one into two parts - 1) A woman was killed; 2) Illegal immigrant in Iowa - if you must play in the partisan kindergarten sandbox.

The coverage was there way before we found out the guy who killed her was Mexican.

He's saying that you just said the same thing basically that Elizabeth Warren said yesterday.

Sorry. I didn't know; I haven't seen any local or national news coverage in weeks. The closest I come is dropping in here when I should be writing.

PICTURE EXCLUSIVE: The squalid trailer where Mollie Tibbetts's killer was living with a group of Migrant workers - located less than four miles from where she was kidnapped

Strewn with beer cans and garbage, this is the secluded Iowa farm where Mollie Tibbetts' accused killer lived before his arrest - going under the name Cristhian Baena.

The remote plot less than four miles from where 20-year-old Mollie was abducted in Brooklyn, Iowa, accommodates a dilapidated two-story home and a 30ft trailer.

Her alleged killer, who authorities say is a 24-year-old illegal immigrant named Cristhian Bahena Rivera, is believed to have lived there with a group of migrants working for a dairy farm.

Dane Lang, co-owner of Yarrabee Farms, confirmed that Rivera had lived in the trailer 'for the past couple of years'.
He used a false name and documents when he was hired but Lang declined to let DailyMail.com inspect the paperwork.

The prominent Iowa family hires a number of migrant workers and accommodates them in a series of trailers and properties, including the tumbledown dwelling on 200th Street, Brooklyn.

Public records also link Rivera's girlfriend Iris Monarrez to the $100,000 house which sits on 39 acres of farmland and is a six-minute drive from the spot along 385th Avenue where Rivera allegedly dragged Mollie into his car.
