Momentum. UF had it, UT is bleeding it

Based on a redshirt freshman playing behind a sus offensive line with injured receivers. Your analysis is so dynamite. Let’s go back and look at some of your other recent analyses:

I am hardly alone in being flat out surprised by the turnaround late season. Truly remarkable. Thank you.

Won't be surprised to see your stupid team and maybe South Carolina make a good run in the playoffs next season.

I'm afraid the Vols are going back to the wilderness to wander for a bit, unless some major changes are made.

You are clearly a troll. His team isn't sniffing the playoffs next season with the schedule they play. They might not even make a bowl game. Change your name to "losertroll" and GTFO. You would blend in well at GatorCountry, d***head.

Tennessee is doing just fine.

I dare not post this in the FB forum. But it does feel like UF is building momentum whereas Tennessee is questioning itself to the point it will lose confidence and players.
Yep. We had our window. Did the best we could with this staff, but now it's back to reality.

LOL.

You mean this staff which took over a program that had gone 29-31 in the previous 5 seasons .... but has gone 37-15 in the last 4, while under NCAA sanctions?

This isn't being a realist. This is trolling, and most forums don't tolerate it. VolNation should not either. No genuine fan is THIS doubled over with pessimism after the type of success that Tennessee has had since 2022. It's trolling. PLEASE ban these idiots! They bring nothing of value to this forum. We have enough genuine realists here. We don't need trolls masquerading as realists on VolNation.

We're boned as long as we have Napier. I'm not convinced he's going to hire an offensive coordinator which is what he desperately needs to cover up his deficiencies. Elite recruiting can carry him to some success but I'm talking about Saban level Alabama recruiting or current GA recruiting, and we aren't doing that.

Excited to watch Lagway play next year and we might be a decent to good team if he steps up and the defense doesn't revert to first half of the year level play. Don't have any confidence we'll be anything beyond a good team even with an elite QB under Napier.

Ditto.
Some Trolls, some doubting Thomas', some losers.
I have never seen a group like this that cannot move forward and only think about the past when we lose or overachieve.
It is like driving a car forward and looking at the rear view mirror only.
Loser mentality that never accomplishes anything.
It is like in one week you expect something that may not be broke to be fixed. Pull out the Magic Wand or throw money at it to fix it. Or some suggest we fire em all and hire new. Geez.
The mentality of some around here almost sounds entitled.
We are not out of the woods yet but at least we are moving in the right direction. Yet some of you want to turn around.
The entitled generation.
Better take the time to fix the problems first or we will end up in another dead period. May require more steam depth and $$$$

The Gators improved as the year went on. Napier had them ready to play…..
.... only when they were at home, as I have said.

Their game against Texas was on November 9th. That was their 9th game of the season, and their last road game against a team with a winning record. They lost 49-17. Texas had a 35-0 lead at halftime. For the game, Texas had 562 yards of total offense.

Sure, they played better at home .... but EVERYBODY plays better at home.

True….. but I figured they’d melt away given their schedule, but they didn’t. Outside of the Texas beat down, they looked fully engaged and ready to play. They could have easily tossed in the towel

Trolling imho is marked by no history and no record of previously applauding your team when called for. I don't think that this qualifies and both UF and UT are part of that group of SEC teams trying to get back to the top tier along with UGA and Alabama (and now maybe Texas)

I think it's natural to compare them and it's a legitimate point of view that UF is moving in the right direction whereas UT seems in the midst of an identity crisis.

You just keep saying that with no real substance to back it up. But continue.

Nothing says identity crisis like making the playoffs with a redshirt freshman while wrapping up recruiting sanctions…

Only someone with an anti-Tennessee agenda, would say that Tennessee is in any sort of "crisis" at all.

We just won 10 games, made the College Football Playoff and signed a solid recruiting class with another one well on the way (which is once again, headlined by a 5 star QB, Faizon Brandon).

The best thing that can be said about Florida is that they finished up strong at home, but Florida is not alone in playing well at home. The 2023 game vs Georgia is Tennessee's only home loss since the start of the 2022 season. It's going to take a pretty damn good team to beat Tennessee in Neyland under Josh Heupel.

I strongly disagree with any notion that Florida's football program is currently in a stronger place than Tennessee's.

Once again, your posts are a mixture of wishful thinking, cherry-picked games, and an outright bias.

Florida did turn it around starting with the UCF game. They’ll have a contending team next year. Keeping Lagway healthy thru a tough schedule will be key.

No, they didn't .... and they won't be competing for anything but a Music City Bowl bid.

They will be no better than 7-3 when they play Tennessee on November 22nd. 5-5 is a more likely record for them after 10 games. It's very possible that Tennessee has played their last game against a Billy Napier coached team. That kinda makes me sad. He is a terrible coach.

Did you read the article ?

UF lost to UT in overtime and made a number of costly errors. UGA barely got by UF and beat UT handily. UF ended the reasons beating LSU and Ole Miss. UT faced no one of consequence (edit: towards end of regular season). We have Lagway coming back and receivers are signing up to play with him slinging it.

The difference between UF and UT, particularly at the end of the season, was minimal, if any.

Florida’s quality and depth at WR is about as strong as I can ever remember:

2025 additions -
5 ⭐️ D. Wilson
5 ⭐️ V. Brown III
4 ⭐️ N. Montgomery
4 ⭐️ J. Michael Sturdivant

Current WR’s -
5 ⭐️ Tre Wilson
4 ⭐️ A. Mizell
4 ⭐️ T. Hawkins
4 ⭐️ TJ Abrams

Those guys, paired with Lagway, paired with Jadan Baugh at RB, paired with 4 of 5 OL returning and a 5th OL coming back who played a ton. That is some serious talent and experience being stacked.

We went to the playoffs and played probably the most talented team in the country. You guys went to a bowl game and scraped by Tulane.

Look, the bowl game was mostly a yawner and a little aggravating for UF fans in that we moped around for 2.5 quarters looking lethargic and disinterested. But 33-8 and going in for more when the game ended isn’t “scraping by Tulane.”

My bad, I got it confused with another game.

Lagway may be good enough to overcome Napier. Sorta like Cam Newton overcame Chizik at Auburn and Joe Burrow overcame Ed Orgeron (although he had a helluva OC).

Before his hamstring took away some of his mobility and running, Lagway looked unbelievable in Napier’s offense. By the end of the season, he could barely even plant and throw normally on one leg. People forget or may not know in the first place, when you watch Lagway’s HS tape, his running ability flashed as more elite than his passing. He has some ridiculous highlight runs. Well we didn’t even get a glimpse of that this year with the hamstring injury. I expect his game to skyrocket when they can incorporate this aspect.
