Monday Regional Finals discussion thread

This sounds like an "anti-Tennessee" rule. NCAA will probably invoke this provision to keep the super regional out of Knoxville because of our team/fan behavior last season. 🤨
If that’s the case then just win the whole damn thing and at the trophy presentation thank the NCAA for motivating us with their Tennessee rules provisions.

Looks like Penn might be out of pitching. Quite incredible that Southern Miss is going to lose their regional opener and then rattle off 4 straight wins. It helps when Auburn lays a giant egg and gives them no competition.
Really? I haven’t followed the stats from that regional to know where the pitching stands, but D-1 claimed last week they had one of the deepest pitching staffs in the field and by far the deepest of the lower level schools. Interesting they may have run out after 4 games.

Pulling for SEC teams today? I have a feeling none of us are pulling for Arkansas. I can't decide how I feel about the others in the mix.

SM coach retiring after the season. There’s your media feel good story. We won’t host
Kyle Petterson mentioned that Scott Berry was retiring in last night's game. He seemed to think that if it comes down to Southern Miss. vs. Tennessee hosting, he wouldn't be surprised that Southern Miss. would get it because Berry is retiring.

The other announcer started asking if the committee disclosed the method behind their decision. Pettersen interrupted him before he could finish his question and said "no". He said you can finish your question, but the answer is no.

We sent LSU’s coach into a great retirement in 2021. Let’s do the same for Berry.

The other negative for Tennessee hosting is that Southern Miss.'s stadium holds more people. If they are considering revenue that could hurt.

If Texas Tech doesn't jump on Florida early, then I don't see them winning.

These Monday games are always a team's 5th starter against the other team's 4th best.

Just know tickets will be just as hard to get in Hattiesburg as they are in Knoxville and they will have the same mentality of don't sell them to UT fans.

Yep. Called my wife at work and said, “honey, if you hear somebody say Super Regionals and tickets in the same sentence…” it don’t matter where it is, it’s gonna sell out in minutes.
