Monte is looking like a chump right now

I figured Monte would struggle with spread/teams with speedy guys. His system is for the NFL type teams. Thats why they succeeded against Bama and not OM and AUB.

i am very upset with todays loss also, but it was because we ran into a more talented and faster team.but in a couple of years that wont be the case.
todays loss is not Monte Kiffen fault and he is a great coach,he just needs more talent to work with.

We have average talent. Add that we're playing with our third team Mike and backup Free.

Correct sir. And I don't know how McCluster looked on TV, but in person, the only guy that comes to mind with the acceleration and quickness I saw today is Larry Fitzgerald. My hat's off to him.. he beat us. He beat our depleted defense. :hi: He deserves all tha accolades he gets after today, and besides, maybe it will make everybody stop looking at mr average in gainesburg.

Only 2 more games and the misery is over.

Ya know.. you don't have to be a fan. Actually, since you obviously aren't a real VOL fan, why don't you go watch NBA or something equally as inane. You can get non-stop LeBron updates on ESPN. I'd almost rather have some of the gator trolls than this kind of garbage. Really pathetic.

He's a prick and a troll. Just ignore him.

The so-called wildcat is the single wing. When you geniuses gonna recognize that? Vol LB corps is razor-thin, but they've done a much better job of playing the position despite the lack of innate talent. CLK & staff will bring in bigger, meaner & more skilled players to offset the miserable recruiting job done by the previous regime. Book it.

I think the distraction from earlier in the week was just to much to over come. You know around campus its all we have been talking about.

Monte's scheme/system depends on the man/player making the play. Tennessee doesn't have the players to run the system to its full potential. Let me repeat that....

Tennessee doesn't have the players to run his system to its full potential.

And for those thinking we heard the same thing about Clawson's offense last year, this is a totally different situation. This is not a complicated defensive system but in order to run it, we need fast, physical players that swarm to the ball which we do not have...yet. That is all.

All we heard when Monte was hired last year was that we didn't have the players to run his system. Now that he's managed to patch it together for most of a season and still turn out a pretty good defense anyway, apparently that's not a problem anymore and we just lost because Monte Kiffin wasn't smart enough to figure out that McCluster was killing us. Damn, people are boneheads.

It also deserves mention that we are now on our third string defensive quarterback (MLB). What would we expect if suddenly Lamaison had to take over the offense. . .not much.

I recall that after Reveiz went down there was a drop off for at least one game. Hopefully now that Lathers has a couple games under his belt he'll start to get the hang of it.

Monte stopped the Wildcat against Alabama by stacking the line. I was hoping he would do that early on against Ole Miss.

bottom line is UK could have beat us today, theese are the best coaches at adapting in the country. but i could tell looking at the team in the tunel before they ran out it was going to be a long day.

Note Kiffin's postgame comments about how they had a lot of trouble with alignments today. The guy who is in charge of defensive alignments is the MLB, who was our third string guy. Savion Frasier going down really, really hurt. It doesn't matter how good your players are or how well the coaches drew the schemes up if you can't get everybody properly aligned.
