Monte is looking like a chump right now

Note Kiffin's postgame comments about how they had a lot of trouble with alignments today. The guy who is in charge of defensive alignments is the MLB, who was our third string guy. Savion Frasier going down really, really hurt. It doesn't matter how good your players are or how well the coaches drew the schemes up if you can't get everybody properly aligned.
Thank you

I'm new to the forum so let start by saying it feels gereat to be apart of the volnation. McCluster running for 282 yards was due to the fact that the team wasn't focused at all. Ingram only ran for I think 99 yards on us. With janzen gone EB was forced to play deeper than usual to help the pass defense, but we will see them next year. Btw who gives a coach a gatorade bath just for becoming bowl elgible??? They went to a bowl last year and won

Chump don' want no help, chump don't GET da' help!

Anyone on here that thinks this is a Monte prob can get the hell out. Any coach in the country NFL or NCAA would love to have Monte. We will have the players in the next year or two. If you can't wait till then to see what happens then you need to find another team.

Monte needs a lot more talent than he has now. He's been coaching D with limited talent. In a few years, with top recruiting classes, his D will dominate the SEC!

Monte's scheme/system depends on the man/player making the play. Tennessee doesn't have the players to run the system to its full potential. Let me repeat that....

Tennessee doesn't have the players to run his system to its full potential.

And for those thinking we heard the same thing about Clawson's offense last year, this is a totally different situation. This is not a complicated defensive system but in order to run it, we need fast, physical players that swarm to the ball which we do not have...yet. That is all.

Pretty much sums it up. And with a depleted LB corp with newcomers basically thrown in at LB and DB's along with a thin defensive front we're at the point of we hope we can make it thru

A new system being thrown in on 18-21 year olds is quite different than seasoned pros.

Think of an East Tennessee highschool football team that dominates every year.

I went to DB so I am trying to think of who that could be and I can't think of any teams with the name rebels that dominate? :)

Also your post is pretty lame. I mean come on. Kiffin has taken this rag tag bunch and had a decent year. We need more talent. It is clear. We are playing the third string LB and played walk-on's at FS. Freshmen everywhere on Defense.

Dexter MCcluster had a great game and we got beaten by a better football team. It happens. This thing isn't going to turn around overnight. Just like it didn't hit bottom overnight. Give it time.....

For those fare weather fans ---> get some cheese to go with that whine, drown your sorrows and come back in a couple years

this LB group is the worst in the SEC.

Do you remember the day when LB's were a AL WIlson or even Jerod Mayo type model? 6'0" to 6'3", 230 to 250 lbs, run 4.5 or 4.6 40 and power, speed, agility, and instincts were guranteed? Chavis nullified that by opting for speed and any linbacker with size become a DE, S to LB, DE to DT? that what we have to overcome, we have the height and speed but do not have the others attributes. Al WIlson and Jerod Mayo may be the best linebackers we ever had along with Eric Westmoreland, Kevin Burnett, Kevin SImon, etc. is what we need to be successful. 210lbs LBs no not going to cut it any more and in the Tampa 2, the only small backer is the Will but they have to be a MAN i.e. Derrick Brooks.

Anybody who thinks they have the right to call Monte Kiffin a chump, needs a swift kick in the @$$. Monte is a great coach and will adjust. Give him one off season to look at all of this footage, plus a lot of the time it was the players overrunning the plays or selling out to one direction. that cut-back play gave dmc two touchdowns. He just played a great game today and our defense was obviously distracted and werent making the right adjustments. Partly Montes fault but you can only talk so much to kids, it's their job to execute.

At the beginning of the season this game, bama and fla were all for sure losses on everybody's predictions. Now all of the sudden we were supposed to destroy because we have beaten wky, ohio, uga, memphis, and uscjr? Those are not big wins. Rebuilding a program takes more than a spring, I have been just as excited about our chances as anyone but Kiffin is turning around the worst Phil team in a decade, Look at Crompdaddy and Hardesty. Last year had you said they would be names in the NFL draft, I would have laughed in your face, but I think both have a shot now. that to me is a victory in itself. Fare weather fans, take a hike, You are the chumps that bring this team down and give ppl like 5150 and posivol fuel. good riddance.

:bad: No anyone that cannot tolerate other opinions like you should get out.

ummm monte aint the one arm tacklein and takin bad angles on the run so no monte aint lookin like a chump the only chump here is u cause u sit here talkin **** about ''ur'' team.. but let me guess ur a better coach then monte thats y ur on the couch watchin the game huh??

You make some good points but you may want to learn a language beyond text messaging.

I love how you can't say anything bad about any of our coaches or its blasphemy.

Spread offenses in general have given Monte issues, and he hasn't stopped the Wildcat at all this year.

Whenever teams starting running that, we're basically bending over and taking it.

I'm not even bothering reading this thread. You're an idiot.

Completely agree with you. We don't have the talent level yet. Destroyed by injuries this year. What Monte has done with this group against SEC powers I think is amazing. Yesterday was just awful....but don't lay it on Monte. He is the reason we will be getting top defensive recruits.

You have quantifiable experience to this end? JK :)

It's not blasphemy to criticize our coaches, just stupid to do so in the first year with only a handful of their recruits. Scheme can't beat lack of talent or depth.

So please explain how we basically contain Alabamas normal O, and then when they put the wildcat in, they go for 8 yards a play?

Spread Offenses-5
Monte-0
WTF?

How have other teams managed to stop McCluster, while we have given him a heisman bid.

For one thing, other teams have stopped him at receiver due to Jevan Snead's problems at QB. Since they have moved McCluster to RB, he's averaging 197 ypg, so nobody else appears to be stopping him either. Next up is LSU, we'll see if they fare any better but it may be an unfair comparison of LSU's front line talent and depth to our current situation with a 3rd team LB calling our defensive alignments.

Everything he said was right on point.

We have an ignorant fan base. Those that believe this is a Monte Kiffin problem only make the fan base more ignorant. Therefore it would be best if they went elsewhere.

When Bama puts 10 blockers in front of a dumptruck-like running back, we don't have what it takes to stop them. When a bum like McElroy is in at QB, we can stop the passing game even while loading up against Ingram.
