more class from the libs.

Alan Keyes is looked at by the black community the same way any white republican is looked at. He would not draw the black vote. His views are extreme right wing. No, every single black person doesnt hate him but I would say 90% dont agree with his views and would not vote for him. The republican myth that Obama got the black vote because he is black would be proved wrong. Someone please answer. What % of the black vote do you think Keyes would get? It would not even be 50%.

Colin Powell's views were completely in sync with the GOP Platform until this past year. Colin Powell has definitely been esteemed, by African American communities, prior to his decision to endorse BHO. Your assumption is absolutely ridiculous.

I would not consider him extreme right wing. He is conservative there is no doubt. There has been an effort made by the republican party in the past ten years to do a better job of including the African American in their agenda (long over due IMO). It has started to gain some traction over time though it is still in it's infancy, the Democrat party is deeply entrenched there though many have started to become disillusioned with the party before Obama came along. This was a smart move on the democrats part because they saw they could and likely would lose some traction amongst black voters because the repubs had some attractive candidates that they were starting to shop around to the American people. IMO this is why Obama seemed to come out of nowhere. There was a concerted effort on the part of the democratic party to push him for this reason, among others.

If Allen Keyes or any other black republican candidate had been elected president black voters would have had to reassess their loyalty to the democrat party and democrats would have taken a hit among black voters. Remember Keyes or any other black candidate would not have had to pull the majority of black votes to win. He would only have had to pull some of the black vote and carry his base to win.

Personal responsibility and the individual controlling their destiny is starting to appeal to many black men and women, especially the educated. They have seen what the entitlement mentality has done to their communities over time and they are beginning to reject it. Like I said this movement is still in it's infancy but is one that could grow over time. It has probably been set back some since Obama was elected but it still has appeal to many.

Im talking about Keyes. CP is respected and he has tried to not get involved in politics. Powell would be the one Black Republican who could get the black vote. Keyes could not.

Aside from the whole Secretary of State for George W. Bush stint, I completely see your point.

...He was also the NSA for Reagan...

But like I said he would not have to get the majority of the black vote. Keyes would most certainly have divided the black vote to some extent and that is all he would need if his campaign was run right.

Then the standard would already have been set and black voters would certainly have come on board, not all but a percentage that would certainly have shook the democrat base up a little.

Myth? That is laughable. :eek:lol:

Who are you trying to fool? Us or yourself?

He was frustrated by the way Bush handled many things, as we all were.

but the thing is, given some of the events that have taken place in the past year from the bombing of the cole to 9/11 and onward, those decisions are tough to make, and he was elected to make those decisions to the best of his ability. I mean its easy to be the monday morning QB. I think if Bush would have been more public and stuck to his guns and been like this is why we did this, and this is why its best for our country, then some of the bandwagon rabble raisers wouldnt be adament. People were going to gripe no matter what, thats just how it is. THe one thing you can say about President G W Bush is that he has kept our country safe. It may take a little longer at airports or whatever but honestly, i would rather it take 45 extra minutes and make it to my destination without abdullah derkaderka trying to blow me up for no reason

I think Powell was more upset that Bush didn't listen to what the guys experienced in conducting war told him they needed, on more than one occasion.

yah, i think he Pres GWB made the best move, which should have been made earlier, when Petreus was put in charge of allied operations. I was more refering to most of the idiots that were bashing bush, and when you would question them they really didnt have nothing to say.

"well bush sent us to iraq for no reason"
my response: Clinton sent us into Kosovo because of Slobadon Malosavich
them: well thats different, he was killing people, and we are out of there now
me: we still have troops there, and so was saddam, he was slaugtering kurds
them: uhh.....

Dems always get 80-95% of the black vote. Kerry got 90%

A better gauge would be to see how much of the black vote Hillary got compared to Obama. That would probably tell us more on this issue of Obama getting the black vote simply because he was black. I'm sure someone could come up with the totals.

I'd say that Obama got a large portion of the African-American vote.

EDIT:

Super Tuesday Exit polls
Based on race, whites went for Clinton, 52 percent to 43 percent for Obama, while he was huge among black voters, 82 percent to 16 percent for Clinton.

You're right its not a myth. Its a flat out rascist lie. Dems always get about 90%of the black vote. Obama being Black was a plus but not the main reason to vote for him. You act as if any idiot would get the Black vote because he is Black and thats not true. Someone like Alan Keyes wouldnt get 40% of the Black vote. So you are wrong like usual. I think alot of people saying Obama got the Black vote because he is Black are saying that because they didnt vote for him because he is Black. They want it to look like others voted because of race since they did when McCain Palin was obviously an inferior ticket.

are you pretending that Bush doesn't deserve some bashing.

On the Iraq front, the jury's out, but on the domestic front he was a total buffoon.

I live in Memphis. There were a lot of black people around here that have never voted that went out and registered just so they could cast a ballot for Obama.

The last sentence in your post should embarrass you.

What do you have to say about white people being split between Obama and Hillary fairly evenly while black voters voted Obama 82% to 16% for Hillary? Talk about voting based upon race. Would this mean that African Americans were racist?
