Morgan Freeman: Tea Party is racist

No. I explained pretty clearly what I mean. The fact that you have as many posts as you do trying to evade the points made by others tells me that you are either lying or blinded by bias.

All you've told me is that MSM existed 40 years ago and is irrelevant today. Let it go, bro.

A study cited frequently by critics of a "liberal media bias" in American journalism is The Media Elite, a 1986 book co-authored by political scientists Robert Lichter, Stanley Rothman, and Linda Lichter.[21] They surveyed journalists at national media outlets such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the broadcast networks. The survey found that most of these journalists were Democratic voters whose attitudes were well to the left of the general public on a variety of topics, including such hot-button social issues as abortion, affirmative action, and gay rights. Then they compared journalists' attitudes to their coverage of controversial issues such as the safety of nuclear power, school busing to promote racial integration, and the energy crisis of the 1970s. The authors concluded that journalists' coverage of controversial issues reflected their own attitudes, and the predominance of political liberals in newsrooms therefore pushed news coverage in a liberal direction. They presented this tilt as a mostly unconscious process of like-minded individuals projecting their shared assumptions onto their interpretations of reality.

In a survey conducted by the American Society of Newspaper Editors in 1997, 61% of reporters stated that they were members of or shared the beliefs of the Democratic Party. Only 15% say their beliefs were best represented by the Republican Party.[22] This leaves 24% undecided or Independent.

A 2002 study by Jim A. Kuypers of Dartmouth College, Press Bias and Politics, investigated the issue of media bias. In this study of 116 mainstream US papers, including The New York Times, the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle, Kuypers stated that the mainstream press in America tends to favor liberal viewpoints.[23] They claimed that reporters who they thought were expressing moderate or conservative points of view were often labeled as holding a minority point of view.[23] Kuypers said he found liberal bias in reporting a variety of issues including race, welfare reform, environmental protection, and gun control.[23]

good point. You've so marginalized yourself as a wannabe idealist with no capacity to think that nobody any longer cares. Congratulations.

Wannabe idealist? :eek:lol:

I don't even post in this forum besides this thread. And that's only because I was called out for the absurd idea that Tea Party members are racist.

You misread it. Youre a wannabe college kid who is an idealist.

The idea wasn't only absurd, but shortsighted and ignorant, which is the sweet irony here.

That's quite an insult to anyone who may be a TP'er.

Wannabe college kid? :eek:lol:

You should stop trying to define me and go back to not caring. You're way off the mark (once again).
I don't care what you really are. I've defined your mental capacity.

Well guys I've got to wrap this b!tch up, it's quit'n time. My contacts are burning from all of the discussion today.

What I've learned from Muschamp. The Tea Party is led by Michelle Bachman and there are apparently official TP ID cards somewhere.

Here's a bit more for you muschump:

Your Brain Knows a Lot More Than You Realize | Memory, Emotions, & Decisions | DISCOVER Magazine Brain Knows a Lot More Than You Realize

People become conditioned and sometimes do not realize what their subconscious is doing. I have little doubt that most liberals in academia and media "believe" they are objective and unbiased.
Let's both watch the NBC nightly news tonight and discuss the obvious liberal bias.

This should be fun.

Well part of the problem is they are bred in liberal education, surrounded by liberals, friends with liberals, so their natural assumption is that this is how the world is. Don't blame them for being naive.

It would not be very fun for you.... I've played that game before.

The bias isn't in the words most of the time or the way the story is reported... except occasionally in the "witnesses" chosen.

The bias is almost always most prevalent and meaningful in what they choose to cover.

FWIW, I seldom get home from work in time to watch network news.... kinda goes to the point I made earlier.

Hey man, you made out better than me!

I've learned I'm a wannabe college kid with white guilt, and a secret member of the Tea Party.
