Most embarrassing thing about today

A perfectly ran offense today (QB keepers or true misdirection) would not have helped us stay close to the ducks; it would, however, tip our hand for future conference opponents.

The rbs are very pedestrian and don't scare anyone. If the Vols had a Travis Stephens or Jay Graham the Oline would look incredible. There were holes today

I think Lane could be that RB if he gets 25 touches a game. He runs hard and knows how to hit a hole. I wish he got more touches! UGH!

No one is happy with the way the game was played today...I bet the players are more sick about it than anyone, save the coaches. The fog from the first two games has been lifted and this game gave a very clear picture of this teams weaknesses. We played a very fast and experienced team tonight (reason they are #2) and they exploited like a good team should.
We have a new scheme on both sides of the ball with the same talent from last year, throw in alot of freshmen, and add it with the debacle of coaching we had for the past three years and this beating was not unexpected....the way we played was. Enough blame for this loss to be passed around but the one constant is the inability of Worley to do anything worthwhile with the rock the past three games....he has to sit. The rest will work itself out with continued coaching and experience.

You know, I'm sick of hearing this, no one is jumping ship. Most of us just will not accept a loss this bad and go on. Its not ok.

This is the worst loss since 1905 when we lost to Georgia Tech.

Maybe not jumping ship but being very fickle fans. If you honestly didn't see this kind of beating coming then you don't really know much about college football this year. I knew we had no chance in this game and so should you.

There are so called fans that are calling for Joness head for losing. When you're not ranked in the top 30 in the country and you play the #2 team with one of the most explosive offenses that's been seen in recent memory, you should have no problem accepting this loss.

Line is good Neal is bad

I didn't see holes. I saw slow developing off-tackle runs that I don't think Oregon's defenders had trouble recognizing. I saw little creativity. I saw no "read options." I saw a crappy running offense. If people think our OL is overrated this year, wait till next year! We need to bust the runner in holes quickly rather than drag them across the formation. Would it help if our backs were quicker? Yes, but you gotta play to your team's strengths. Our coaches are not doing that.

No. One back read option with no other threat is retarded.

I'm not saying we could have won but we could have controlled the clock running a power I with a fullback.

We took the game out of our strength which is our O-line.

- Worley doesn't have the arm or legs that we'd desire, but the reason he's holding us back is because he has NO confidence. You absolutely have to have confidence or you'll be eaten alive in the SEC, or anywhere else.

- Running game still looks good, imo. We have 2 main backs with 3 supporters...can't complain about that. Running game would be even better if we had a passing game to match.

- Defensive line looked good today, too. Corey Miller made plays today, along with Saulsberry (hope he's ok).

- Gotta continue to build depth behind our starting 3 LBs. I'll feel better when Maggitt's back, but we're still woefully inexperienced.

- I honestly have no idea what we'll do for the rest of the season at CB. Coleman is much better than last year, but still not "lockdown" status, and while Sutton shows flashes, he's gonna get tested a lot this year. Wish Bonner, Gray, and Gordon were here.

- Where was Byron Moore today? And Pig/J. Johnson, for that matter??

With all this being said, I feel better about the UF matchup than today's. GBO!!

We took the game out of our strength which is our O-line.

Offensive plan was stupid as possible. Played directly to our weakness and avoided UOs. If we're going to do that, leave the coaches home and save the hotel expense.

We all thought the O-Line would be our teams strength this season but after 3 games, I am not so sure about that. WIth a better RB, maybe they would look better, however, I do not see them sustain their blocks. I did not see a lot of push either. We will face better D-lines this season including next week in Gainesville.

Agree, looked to me Tom Smith , Alden Hill and even the Walk on Summerhill hit the holes a lot quicker than Neal. . He stutter steps and runs east and west too much.
I liked what I saw of Alden Hill although admittedly he was playing against their 2nd team.

Agree, however, he was running behind our 2nd string O-Line as well. THe thing I like about Hill, Smith and Summerhill is they hit the holes quickly and run downhill. Lane does this pretty well too, however, Neal is an East-West runner and stutter steps too much. Makes a big difference.

I'll admit I'm biased, I think the spread offense is trash, easy coaching and an abomination. Does the team who has won the last 2 NCs run the spread?

Now, that being said, a team can win with it but I just do not understand why we played to Oregon's strength? We don't have the spead but we have the size and power, the coaches didn't use it!

Single back option, w QB who can't run or throw. Wonder where the ball is going to go when the RB goes left.

Spread works. The crap we're doing right now has no prayer.

It's going to be a long year. I think we win all our non-conference games and win against Candy and KY and that's it. Missouri will exploit us much like OR. Auburn will out scheme us. That puts us at 5-7. No bowl again.

Think how bad it would have been with Dooley. It could always be worse is my point. And this is what we expected as well. We brought bats to a shotgun fight.

The idea that we have a dominant oline is quite frankly a joke. Good pass blockers, that's it. We got no consistent push, even against a freaking 3 man front. Feel bad for Worley, but he just isn't big-time. Offensive scheme gives me no confidence - never had a clue what Oregon was going to do, they seemed to have no problem figuring out what we were going to do. Going to be a long season.

I think you are absolutely correct.... I was sitting in row 6 on the 30 yard line and several times I had basically a field level view down the line of scrimmage and the Ducks just stood the olinemen up. Oline wasn't very physical at all.

my favorite thing about neal: has a wide open hole in front of him, but cuts back into 3 D-lineman. That's awesome!

It's easy to be an armchair coach but I think anybody who knows anything about football could see that you don't run up tempo offensive with a non scrambling qb against a team who does it better than you. Should have relied on the running game and eaten as much clock as possible keep it a low scoring ugly game.

Some of you girls sure get your panties in a twist easily.

I'm not emotional, I don't drink, I'm not jumping ship, I've been a consistent fan longer than some of you have been alive, I expect CBJ to do great things in the long-term, I do not expect us to win 9-10 games this season (hoping for 6), I do expect our very young players to get exposed a few times, I had no illlusions of winning the game today.

I DID expect our oline to push people around, and they didn't do it. I expect holes so freaking big that even Rajion will run through them. It didn't happen. I don't give a crap that Oregon is as good as they are, I still expected that to be the one redeeming thing we did today. Did not happen, period. And with all the crowing about our offensive line that has gone on, I see it as a major embarrassment. If you don't agree, sue me. But grow a pair and get some thicker skin.

I agree with those of you raising points about the option. Even in high school we learned on an option you have to be close enough to the defender that you're reading them and they're not reading you, and our option does seem to be very deep in the backfield. And, yes, option isn't really an option if the QB never keeps it. I would _love_ to have seen some I-formation, smash mouth football today.

Most embarrassing thing is the idiots coming out to complain about getting beat by a FAR superior talented team.

I agree. Looked like butch gave up at the end of the first half, we had the ball with 1 min 19 sec left before half and he ran the clock out. I know we were behind but score before halftime and we get the ball on kick-off in second
half. Score on first possession in second half then onside kick to get the ball be back and score, or at least try!!! Looked like we gave tha f@$& up! Hope I am wrong but that is as what my eyes saw!
