Carl Pickens was a very talented receiver, but he dropped several TD passes in big games that cost us dearly. COLORADO, BAMA, AND ND are some great examples, therefore he is my most overrated VOL. My most underrated vol is Raynoch Thompson; Al Wilson gets all the hype, but he was a better tackler than Al. This guy was like a heat sinking missle, and when he hit a ball carrier their butt was on the ground. I thik Cory Flemming should get a lot more credit than he does also.

underrated - rico mccoy, hes a beast!

Carl Pickens came here to play safety. He just happened to be skilled enough to play WR, too. It's tough to say a guy that good was overrated. He started in the NFL for several years, too.

Wil Overstreet laps the field for most overrated. Andy Kelly may not be underrated, he is underappreciated.

Overrated - Michael Munoz. Not to many all-americans go undrafted in the NFL.

Underrated - Shawn Bryson, much better fullback then Fleming IMO

i totally agree with you on shawn bryson. gettin back to pickens; i wasn't referring to what he did in the NFL, i was tlaking about what he did in big games wearing the color orange.

i saw the orange & white game... a blind person can see he is awesome... he will be underrated because because hes "just a freshman" and hes playin just as good as all of the other linebackers

this year he may be underrated but by the end of his career at UT there is no way he will be underrated. right now he cannot be underated because he hasnt done anything besides spring practices.

overrated--munoz and Leonard Scott (guy could run, but couldn't catch a cold....)
underrated--Andy Kelly, only reason why is he was one of the guys that made it OK for big time qb's to come to UT, and he doesn't get enough credit for what he did while he was here...still my personal favorite UT player. he'd probably be remembered differently had he ever beaten Bama (sound familiar Peyton, just substitute Florida) and completed the comeback at Neyland against Notre Dame.

Had Kelly beaten Alabama in '90 and completed the comeback against Notre Dame, UT would have won the National Championship.

yep, thus solidifying his rightful place in UT lore. But he didn't, and he's that guy that was there before Heath Shuler got there, who could very well be considered overrated as well, though i did like that guy too....not the brightest bulb in the basket, but a hell of an athelete.
