'24 MS DL Kamarion Franklin (Ole Miss commit)

So freeze hasn't even coached a game yet at AU and is already flipping two 5* and is in full pursuit of Kam... You would think after his punishment he would come in above board at least in the first season but sounds like he's picking up where he left off... If we get beat out again on NIL to AU for a top tier guy.... UGH.
Well it’s legal now so.

Not having it might be an UGH, but not willing to pay more than our assessed value is not. Kind of like the car market not too long ago..... paying more than the real value to be able to celebrate beating out somebody's over bid is what it is. Sometimes you just have to walk away find better value for the buck.

Okay. So last week, people were saying Miami. Are people now saying Auburn? That would suck. We could really use this kid.

If we are gonna drop the big bag then I would rather it be for Nwaneri. I mean at some point you have to think about paying up for one of thes elite defenders like Franklin or Nwaneri.
I'm curious why Nwaneri? Is it because he's rated higher by the services? Or have you watched film of both? Not trying to be argumentative, just curious what you base your opinion on?

I kind of think IF Spyre decided to pay up for one, they'd low-key get the input of CRG on which one he'd rather have.

Seems like we’re experiencing a wave of interest from guys like Wingo and Nwaneri right now. Wonder if we are upping our offers a bit as we’ve been swinging and missing a bit here lately. Don’t get me wrong, still thrilled with the class as a whole and we’ve had some good pickups, but we’ve been in the thick of with a at least a half dozen five stars and only one of them is currently committed. I think our donors are as hungry as the fans are for success on Rocky Top

Franklin said "by the end of September" he plans to be committed, with Auburn, Miami, Tennessee and Ole Miss battling it out.

When it comes down to make a decision, what are the most important factors?

"My development, who going to develop me," Franklin said. "Am I comfortable at the school? Does it feel like home? NIL is not a huge factor. I'm not looking for the school who can offer the biggest dollar, but I can't let a school give me a discount."

Some of the AU fans in the chat portion of the 247 article are concerned about the same thing, that he even talks about money. At least he’s not hiding it, I guess.
His quote was NIL is not the main thing, I am not after the highest bidder. I just don’t want to go at a discount. GBO!

He could blow out his knee in fall practice before he ever takes a snap. It's literally all about the $ and anyone who thinks it shouldn't be or isn't has their head in the sand.

This quote is literally contradictory. I get what he’s saying or at least I get what he’s trying to say. But if you don’t go to the highest bidder then you are literally going somewhere else at a discount. I’m assuming he means as long as it’s relatively close, he will choose the school that is the best fit.
